Über diesen Titel

Building a dedicated online audience is both an art and a mystery. Traffic Sources is where host Carlos Pacheco talks with creators, business leaders, and marketers who've managed to figure it out (mostly). Through honest conversations, we explore what actually works in content creation, audience growth, and community building – and what definitely doesn't. Whether you're starting from scratch or already have a following, we share real experiences and practical approaches you can use. No growth hacks or secret formulas here – just straightforward conversations about real work. Join us as we share our insights and learn new ways to turn casual observers into genuine supporters, with plenty of judgment and sarcasm to spice things up. Join us on a semi-monthly basis where we discuss audience and channel strategies, the changes and struggles of the platforms, and the latest tactics, strategies, and trends. Who the hell is this guy? After stumbling through a career in advertising and marketing (where he mostly pretended to understand acronyms), Carlos somehow landed at Just For Entertainment Group as Director of OTT and monetization strategies. There, he spends his days contemplating subversive strategies to grow entertainment IPs across streaming platforms while occasionally having to explain to his parents what exactly that means. Before that, Carlos sweet-talked his way into Just for Laughs as a digital director, where he convinced them his SEO and marketing experience would help grow their YouTube presence. Spoiler alert: it actually worked. He then had a stint at Boat Rocker Media, building a channel network and managing rights on YouTube – which is basically like being a digital traffic cop, but with more spreadsheets. These days, you'll find him at Just For Entertainment Group, where he continues to translate digital jargon into actual business results, one platform at a time. (He's still not sure how he got here, but he's rolling with it.)Copyright Pachwork Inc 2025 Marketing & Vertrieb Ökonomie

    Notables:

Changes to the YouTube Partner Program:
"Starting today, eligible creators will begin to be able to apply to YPP earlier - once they've met a threshold of 500 subscribers, 3 public uploads in the last 90 days, and either 3000 watch hours in the past year or 3M Shorts views in the last 90 days. These new partners will unlock access to fan funding features like channel memberships, Super Chat, Super Stickers, Super Thanks, and the ability to promote their products with YouTube Shopping."

  • The Video Insiders Podcast Ep.51 - The Impact of YouTube Shorts
    Mar 1 2023

You are not imagining things, this is a new episode of VIP that is hitting your podcast feed!

After a long hiatus, VIP returns with some changes. Denis Crushell joins the show to regularly co-host with Carlos Pacheco. We are taking baby steps with the show, we might change the name but our current focus is to make sure we get back on a regular upload schedule.

As we publish the first episode of this "reboot" the YouTube creator space is going through changes (when isn't it?) as YouTube Shorts is posing a real threat to TikTok's vertical video dominance and monetization of Shorts on YouTube has kicked off with a whimper. We discuss that, what we've been up to and what are the plans for VIP going forward.
