For the first book that I have ever covered on the podcast, I felt that Ling Ma's novel would be the perfect novel to pick apart due to it's relevance to current world affairs and with regard to the workaholic mentality that Americans maintain even through a pandemic! Will truth be stranger than fiction or is our reality preferable to the one in this book? Let's find out!

For the first episode of the new year, I thought that we should take a somber look into what will most likely be the oldest film that I will ever examine on this show. While not perfect, this movie was far better than I expected it to be. A visual delight that presents a fascinating narrative puzzle, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari has stood the test of time and remains a truly wonderful experience.
