As we move past the first half of the year, it seems like a great time to add something different to the podcast. In the past, we have broken these episodes up into 3 separate sections where you as the listener could hear them in 15 min. sections. For episode 13, we decided to combine the topics and present them as one longer program. For those parents who have kids who are interested in being a professional performer. Some mediums start earlier than others and some will require more. For us, we were able to provide age appropriate opportunities and support for our future superstar and had to make decisions that we felt would put and keep her on track for her dreams.

We are in the midst of organizing our first school trip to the US for our students. This is something we have dreamed of doing since we started and now that things are moving more toward a normal pace, it felt like now or never. While we are based in Japan, we hope that this helps give people some insight and the push they need to do similar events wherever they are. Some tips, why we chose Cleveland, and things we plan to do before, during, and after.

This episode we dive into a different topic of being an artist in Aichi (or looking to perform in Japan). These tips work for solo artists such as singers and rappers, but also could help other artists who plan to perform in a club setting. Will at some point get more into Djing in Japan as well, but for now we hope that these tips help and spark more dialogue about the topic.

In the midst of learning in two different languages, living in two different worlds, and navigating teen life, as parents we can also feel the pressure of being on the end of alot of angst, aggression, and confusion. In this episode we discuss some strategies to help your teen and elevate some of the stress from your role as their parent. This is more of a springboard for further discussion, so feel free to hit us with your questions, comments, or experience.

English Language education in Japan is big business and not necessarily in a good way. Modeled more after the cram schools, there is a sense that English is more of a luxury than a necessity when it comes to future goals and opportunities for students. We created a school where students can have fun, be challenged, and reach as far as they can with the fluency of their mastery of a new language. With this in mind, communication is key, so we provide conferences and assessments to help coach, educate, and keep everyone on the team in the loop.

Then finally as a parent, we talk more about homeschool, balance, and how things are going between that and part time public school.
