Über diesen Titel

The Parent Resource Spotlight is a podcast designed to support, inform, and empower families by highlighting community resources and services available to children and caregivers. Hosted by Ms. Palmer, who serves as a Community School Coordinator at C. Elizabeth Rieg Regional School. This bi-monthly series features conversations with trusted community partners, service providers, and organizations that support families navigating disability services, education, wellness, and transition planning.

Each episode provides a clear overview of available programs, how families can get connected, and practical guidance to help parents make informed decisions for their child. Episodes include time for Q&A, with questions submitted in advance to ensure families’ most pressing concerns are addressed.

Whether you’re looking for support services, inclusive programs, or guidance for your child’s next steps, Parent Resource Spotlight connects families to the resources they need—one conversation at a time.

    Episode 1: KEEN Greater DC–Baltimore

Looking for inclusive, safe, and welcoming activities for children and young adults with disabilities?

In our first episode of the Parent Resource Spotlight Podcast, we spotlight KEEN Greater DC–Baltimore, a nonprofit organization dedicated to inclusive recreation, community connection, and accessible programming.

In this episode, families will learn how KEEN creates meaningful opportunities for children, teens, and young adults with disabilities to build friendships, confidence, and joy through inclusive sports and recreational activities. We discuss eligibility, registration, program locations across the DC–Baltimore region, and how KEEN prioritizes safety, inclusion, and accessibility.

This episode was created for our Rieg families, but if you support or care for an individual with disabilities, this information is for you too.

Listen, share, and take the next step by exploring how KEEN can support your family’s journey beyond the classroom.
