  • Journal Entry 111 - Case Closed - No Prisoners
    Jun 10 2026

    "The Sheriff Who Wouldn't Quit"

Wind hums across the prairie. Saddle leather creaks. A coffee pot rattles on the grate.

"This week on the Trail Boss Journal… I'm tellin' the tale of a man the years couldn't tame. Sheriff Gabe Whitacre — seventy years old, slowin' down but still meaner than trouble. When a bigtalkin' rancher lost six prize horses to a pack of outlaws, folks said Gabe was too old to chase 'em. But he rode clear to Kansas, brought back the horses… and not a single prisoner.

And when the town asked what happened on that long trail home, Gabe just said… 'I slept. They didn't.'

Saddle up, friend. This is one story you'll want to hear."
