Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Kansas Weather Podcast — it's Tuesday, February 24th. Step outside and you'll feel 33 degrees. Feels crisp. Feels calm. Feels like spring is teasing you. Don't fall for it. Today kicks off the wildest temperature ride Kansas has thrown at us in weeks. We're talking record-flirting warmth, fire-danger winds. And winter's curtain call by Sunday. Buckle up. Start in the northeast. You hit 64 degrees by 3 P.M. Under partly sunny skies. Sounds perfect, right? Except those southwest winds gust to 32 miles an hour by late morning. The kind that'll yank your hat clean off. Tonight clouds roll in as temps ease to 37 degrees. Wednesday cools slightly to 58 degrees with a chance of rain overnight. Fire danger stays elevated today, so skip the backyard burn pile. Push south-central and the heat cranks higher. You're looking at 66 degrees by 3 P.M. With gusts near 30 miles an hour. Feels like someone opened an oven door. Tonight stays mild at 39 degrees. Wednesday brings another balmy 67 degrees before rain chances sneak in Wednesday night. But here's the twist.. Sunday crashes to 48 degrees with rain showers possible. That's a 20-degree nosedive from today. Now western Kansas? You're basically auditioning for summer. 71 degrees by 2 P.M. Yes, seventy-one. Winds shift north later today, but overnight lows only dip to 33 degrees before bouncing back. Wednesday holds at 70 degrees. Then Sunday reality-checks you at 44 degrees with a slight chance of snow showers. Classic Kansas whiplash. The pattern through Friday? Widespread 70s. Then a cold front slams the brakes this weekend. Sunday brings a 40-degree temperature crash in some spots, with rain and snow possible. Winter's last stand might be messy. Silver lining? We're gaining 2 minutes and 28 seconds of daylight today. Spring's coming.. Eventually. Enjoy the warmth today. Just watch those winds. And maybe keep that jacket close for Sunday. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Kansas Weather Podcast — it's Monday, February 23rd. Step outside right now and that 15 degrees will slap you awake faster than any coffee. But here's the plot twist.. By tomorrow afternoon, you'll be peeling off layers like it's April. Right now, the whole state is locked in the deep freeze. Northeast Kansas sits at 14 degrees. South Central at 20. Western Kansas at 15. But watch what happens by this afternoon. Western Kansas rockets to 52 degrees by 5 P.M., while Northeast Kansas only climbs to 38. That's a 14-degree gap across the state, all thanks to stubborn high pressure camping out in the east. Tonight, lows dip to 12 in the northeast, 21 in South Central. And 15 out west. Then around 5 A.M. Tuesday, the winds flip from north to northwest in the northeast. And that's your signal. The warm-up is here. By Tuesday afternoon, every region jumps 25 to 30 degrees. Northeast Kansas hits 62. South Central reaches 65. Western Kansas? A balmy 70 degrees. In February. And it sticks around through Friday, with highs in the 60s and low 70s. Wednesday night brings a cold front with light rain, mostly central and eastern regions. Just a tenth of an inch or less, enough to knock temps back to the upper 50s Thursday. Then Friday and Saturday? Back to 70 degrees statewide. Sunday reality checks in with highs in the 40s and 50s, plus a slight chance of rain and snow up north. One heads up.. Fire danger spikes Tuesday and Friday in Western and South Central Kansas. Gusts to 25 miles an hour and humidity in the teens make even small sparks dangerous. Hold off on burning anything. Classic Kansas. Freezing at sunrise, practically summer by tomorrow. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Kansas Weather Podcast — it's Sunday, February 22nd. Grab your coat one last time, because winter's about to pack its bags for a while. Step outside right now and you're feeling 22 degrees. Not terrible, but this is the coldest day you'll see for a week. By Tuesday, we're jumping 30 degrees. Yeah, you read that right. Northeast Kansas, you're hitting 35 degrees around 4 P.M., but those northwest winds gusting to 30 miles an hour will keep you honest. Tonight drops to 15 by 4 A.M., feeling more like 5 with that wind. South Central warms to 41 by 3 P.M., then falls to 21 overnight. Western Kansas, you're the warm spot at 41 around 4 P.M., but you'll still hit 15 by sunrise. Here's where it gets wild. Monday climbs into the upper 30s and low 40s. Then Tuesday? We're talking 60s statewide, with Western Kansas flirting with 70. That's mittens to sunglasses in 48 hours. Wednesday night brings a cold front with a slight chance of light rain — nothing heavy, just enough to settle the dust. Thursday cools slightly to the 50s and 60s, then Friday bounces right back near 70 under sunshine. So Dress warmly today. By Tuesday, you'll be wondering where you put your sunglasses. Spring's not tiptoeing in — it's kicking down the door. Quick thing — if this forecast helped you plan your week, share it with someone who could use a heads up. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
