Joel Anderson's 2008 Australian masterpiece Lake Mungo is one of the most beautifully crafted and emotionally devastating horror films we have ever covered on this show — and we had a lot to say about it. We dig into Anderson's incredible screenplay and why the story hits so much harder than your typical ghost story, how the documentary style feels so perfectly chosen for this particular narrative that you forget you are watching a film, and the remarkable cast who improvised their performances giving the whole thing an authenticity that is almost uncomfortable to watch.
