For the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda, Game Club is celebrating by playing what might just be the lowest point in the franchise: Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon.

Released on the Philips CD-i and famous for all the wrong reasons, Wand of Gamelon has long been a punchline among fans. Stiff controls, baffling design choices, and cutscenes that feel beamed in from another dimension have earned it a reputation as—very possibly—the worst game to carry the Zelda name.

But is it truly that bad? Or is there something worth understanding beneath the chaos?
