    Segment 1: Intro and Trivia

Gabbi: Yes!! We have brought one of our good friends, and Taylor Swift superfan, Seamus with us today.

    Seamus: Heyy

Louisa: Seamus will be joining us to talk about his encounters with the Swiftie Fandom, and what its like to be part of it.

Gabbi: Are you NOT part of it Louisa…

Louisa: I mean I would not consider myself a Swiftie, but I really really like her as a person. I am not as big of a hater as CHAT GPT

Gabbi: Don;t get me started on chat gpt– today I was trying to generate a quick list of all the Taylor albums and it tried to claim that the life of a show girl was NOT an actual album but a fan theory… like WHAT.

Anyways the reason I was getting this list is I thought that it would be fun to have you, Seamus, rank all of the albums so we are gonna do some rapid fire questioning ready

    Seamus: lets do it

Louisa: okay do you prefer ( go down line to find winner)

    1. Debut
    2. Fearless
    3. Speak now
    4. Red
    5. 1989
    6. Reputation
    7. Lover
    8. Folklore
    9. Evermore
    10. Midnights
    11. The tortured poets departments
    12. The life of a show girl

Gabbi: okay I like that ranking

Louisa: yes I agree, but now we can ask the fun questions to get the true life of a Swiftie. Seamus are you Ready

    Seamus:

    Segment 2: Questions for Seamus
    1. What is the craziest thing you have done for something taylor swift related??
    2. How much Taylor Swift merch do you own
    3. What is your favorite thing about Taylor Swift?
    4. If TS was to walk in right now, what would you say her her??
    5. Whats your favorite Era?
    6. What is the craziest theory youve heard or had yourself?

    Segment 3: Crazy Fan encounter

Louisa: I think the stories we’ve heard here today are enough to be considered crazy, so we won’t spend any extra time with those today.

Gabbi: We hope you enjoyed this week's episode, and dont forget to stay nerdy

  • The Summer I Turned into a Pretty Huge Superfan
    Jan 30 2026

    Hopewell Valley Student Podcasting Network

Show Name: The Fan and The Foe

Episode Title: The Summer I Turned [into a] pretty [huge superfan]

You are listening to The Fan and the Foe with your host(s) Gabbi and Louisa.

In this episode of The Fan and the Foe we discuss the summer I turned Pretty and its EXTREMELY dedicated fans

    Segment 1: Talking About TSITP

Louisa: okay before we get into things i want to clarify that we have both watched this right

Gabbi: yes I ve watched all the seasons

Louisa: Okay good me too, but for the listeners that don’t know, do you want to explain what TSIPT is??

Gabbi: Of course. So basically The Summer I turned pretty is a wildly popular YA romance show that is based off of the book trilogy by Jenny Han. You might be thinking to yourself hmm. I totally know that name from somewhere? It's because she is also the author of the equally famous To all the Boys I’ve Loved Before book and movie series. TSITP follows Isabel or Belly who spends every summer at her family friend's beach house on Cousins Beach. Belly has always been seen as a younger sister to everyone, especially her moms best friends two sons Conrad and Jeremiah, who are BOTH the love interests of this series at one point or another. But of course Belly goes for the older and emotionally unavailable one who she's been DOWN bad for since childhood.

Louisa: Oh obviously why would you go for the more reasonable option when there's a much more difficult and treacherous path to go down in the form of his older brother. But I am still team Conrad, jeres just there for the plet

Gabbi: trust me Louisa everyone whose ever seen the show shakes their head at every single decision belly makes.. This fanbase is you guessed it like that of most other teenaged romances– teenage girls who are desparately hope for their moms best friends son who also looks like chris briney to fall in love with them!

Louisa: Hey- don’t hate on my guy chris briney. He is the best actor in the entire series. And I think some people hope for their moms best friends son also looks like jeremiah

Gabbi: Okay okay your probably right. Anyways One of the biggest controversies of this show is the heated rivalry between the two brothers over Belly, and very polarly you either have to be Team Jeremiah or Team Conrad. There is a right answer and it is obviously Team Conrad

Louisa: How is that obvious? I feel like they both have some pretty apparent flaws and differences. But im not going against my word because as I said its def connie for the win. BUT my sister is team jeremiah because she says he is the one that has been there and the one that high as she says climbed up that ladder.

Gabbi: I mean they definitely both have their drawbacks and emotional trauma but at least Conrad didn’t cheat on belly and then fix it by proposing to her???

Louisa: Mind you with the SMALLEST ring known to mankind. But at least Jeremiah actually cared about her and didn’t try to covertly steal his brothers FIANCE. But Conrad is more stable and much more mature and caring. So like i guess I know where my sister was coming from we we actually got in a fight about it haha

    Gabbi: a FIGHT??

Louisa: like basically yes haha. We were watching the finale together and SPOILER ALERT when they looked back at the house in cousins after belly and conrad were together she said smth a long the lines of “that shouldve been jere” so I was like what the heck are you talking about its always been conrad and so she was like no its been jere for like 7 years and I said sure but shes always thought about conrad and their infinity necklace and she like stormed off because she was so mad but we resolved it and mow were chillin even though we joke about that fight now

Gabbi: omg tahts insane haha, maybe your part of the crazy fandom.

Louisa: I mean were def not the ones reading the books and making...

Episode Title: Major League Baseball with Majorly Obsessed Fans

Gabbi: You are listening to The Fan and The Foe with your host(s) Gabbi and Louisa.

Louisa: In this episode of The Fan and The Foe we are discussing the world of sports, more specifically baseball!

    Gabbi: Ewwww

Louisa: Hey! Already trying to start arguments I see

    Gabbi: you know me

Louisa: Well, baseball is America's game so you can't really diss it without the majority of people being mad

    Gabbi: whatever

Segment 1: Louisa talks about sports/ Banter!

Louisa: Well, if you couldn't already tell, gabbi is not the fan here, I am

Gabbi: yea, I am anything but a fan, I just get the merch and look cute

Louisa: I hate that type of person, you guys are all such fake fans.

Gabbi: well it seems you hate everyone, so thats no surprise

Louisa: Fair enough, but if there's one thing I don't hate, its the yankees, except when the blow a game in the middle of the fifth inning

Gabbi: What does that even mean?

Louisa: the yankees or the blowing a game in the fifth inning

Gabbi: the inning thing, duhh of course I know who the yankees they are the worst team in baseball, we root strictly for philly teams in my house, are they were like people in historical times

    Louisa: oh lord I hope you're joking…

Gabbi: of course im joking, the yankees are like THE epitome of baseball NOT

Louisa: okay thank gosh you know something, you're already a better foe than me

Gabbi: yea, usually you don't know anything

Louisa: okay okay we get it you're better than me

    Gabbi: im what???!

    Louisa: dont push it…

    Gabbi: fine fine

Louisa: Okay well anyways I was born a yankees fan, I love going to the bronx despite the horrific drive to get there. I have probably been to about 10 games, which isn’t a lot but I feel like it could get a little repetitive if I went to too to many

Gabbi: Well you know what doesn’t get repetitive, watching the hunger games over and over and over again someone please try and help me convince louisa to watch the hunger games with me

Louisa: whatever you're trying to suggest lets stop it right there

    Gabbi: mhm

Louisa: But seriously there's something about going to a yankees, game or even any game in person that is just so special.

Gabbi: like what. I feel like the games get so boring after a while, anytime i go see baseball the only thing i focus on is the food, especially the cotton candy but past that what's the point?

Louisa: the traditions gabbi, like the yankee’s bleacher creatures chanting all of the players names before the the first inning of every game, or the singing of sweet caroline, or even the dance battles that happen on top of dugouts

Gabbi: Oh I know about those. They can get…intresting

Louisa: oh yes they can. But they're really so fun to watch

Gabbi: I'll agree with you there

    Segment 2: Trivia

Louisa: anyways… My dad, my brother and I got the amazing opportunity to go to a world series game last year- like two seasons ago when they played the Dodgers. They had just forced a game 5, and so our friends had some tickets that they auctioned off. We went and it took FOREVER to get in for one, but the game started off really well

Gabbi: this sounds like its going south

Louisa: oh it does. Basically we all had bets on who would hit a homerun on the yankees, and I had bet on Judge, my dad on Stanton, and I think my brother on Chisolm, I kinda forget, and I remember I think only my dad and I won, but im again, not sure

Gabbi: So when does this get interesting??

Louisa: Jeez okay I'll fast forward. Basically the yankees were ahead by a lot in the fifth inning when it all went south. Gerritt Cole, the pitcher didn’t cover a base

    Episode Title: K-Pop Demon Hunters

Welcome back! You are listening to The Fan and the Foe with your host(s) Gabbi and Louisa .

In this episode of The Fan and the Foe the Podcast we discuss: All things K-pop and K-pop demon hunters

Segment 1: Introduction to all things K-Pop

Gabbi: Soooo todays topic neither of us are the most well versed in but as per usual I have at least seen and enjoyed watching Kpop demon hunters and Louisa is completely and udderly clueless

Louisa: You can’t say I am completely and utterly clueless on everything

Gabbi: Well you never seem to know what's going on here

Louisa: Just because I don’t know what every member of 1D’s blood type is doesn't mean I am clueless. I know plenty of things. Plus I have actually been in the room while Kpop demon hunters were playing so I can’t be that clueless.

Gabbi: Ohhhh well if you're so knowledgeable now why don’t you tell us what you think you know about Kpop Demon hunters.

Louisa: Uhhh. So you see it's a movie on netflix that little kids seem to love about demons fighting kpop?

Gabbi: absolutely not. You literally just recited the title but wrong. Come on at least try next time The show focuses on 3 main girls, Rumi mira and zoey who are a part of a kpop group called huntrix by day and demon hunters by night, they are all the rage until this new band of guys called the saja boys threaten their popularity with their first hit single.

The one twist is all of the guys are secretly demons trying to corrupt their fans and break the protective barrier between the human world and the demon realm

Louisa: Ok so maybe I was a teeny tiny bit off

Gabbi: Sureeee. Well I never would’ve known all of this if it weren’t for [babysitting story and little cousin that LOVES kpop demon hunters]. It is extremely popular with younger kids, but there are also plenty of people, high schoolers and older who also loved this movie

    1. Record breaking streams on netflix—> it got put into theaters sing along style
    2. The movie brought together kpop and korean folklore and tied it all together with catchy lyrics and elaborate animations

The songs from the movie were so popular that they were on the radio and I can’t lie golden is a BOP.

Louisa: correction, it WAS a bop, now its just overplayed

Gabbi: you have to admit its super catchy

Louisa: Oh 100 percent, it totally was, but now it's a bit much. Its like WICKED, except wicked songs weren't overplayed so I still love them

Gabbi: OMG I just saw for good in theatres and it was SO GOOD, like Cynthia Erivo is an icon

Louisa: I gonna do something crazy, and actually agree with you

Gabbi: wow, what a rare occurrence

Louisa: I know right, but anyways Kpop demon hunters is definitely gonna take gen alpha by storm if it hasnt all ready

Gabbi: Its gonna be their High school musical

Louisa: How dare you make that comparison. An okay animated film against one of the most iconic franchises to ever exist for teens. I think not.

Gabbi: fine maybe that was a bit much, but you get the point

Ok now lets do my favorite part where louisa has even less clue about whats going on then normal.. Trivia!!!!! But first, a quick break where you can hear about one of our friends' podcasts!!

Segment 2: Banter and Trivia 1. In many K-pop demon-hunter storylines, what special ability often distinguishes the group’s leader?

    A. Super strength

    B. Time manipulation

    C. Enhanced intuition

    D. Fire breath

    Correct Answer: C. Enhanced intuition

    2. In a typical K-pop...

Episode Title: 1 Direction, 1 Crazy Fandom

You are listening to The Fan and the Foe podcast with your host(s) Gabbi and Louisa.

In this episode of The Fan and the Foe we will be discussing One Direction, and the crazy fans that follow them.

Segment 1: 1D background and rise to fame

Gabbi: In 2010 4 British and 1 Irish guys came on to essentially the British equivalent of America's got Talent, called the x-factor, Simon Cowell included, they came as soloists and left as the biggest boy band since the Backstreet Boys.

They released the absolute banger What Makes You Beautiful that is still played at every school function, wedding and grocery store that I've ever been to, even 15 years later. But hey! Everyone knows it's fantastic so why not.

Originally there were 5 members of 1D, Liam Paine, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, and Niall Horan and together they release 4 albums, Zayn left the group after a fall out and then they released their last album before they went on what they called an “18 month hiatus” which ten years later fans are still waiting for a comeback from. Y'know I too am waiting for a new 1D song or album or better yet a tour, but it'll never be the same as liam passed this year.

    Candlelight vigil on hiatus

    Up all night

    Take me home

    Midnight memories

    Made in the AM

    Four

They have all had very successful solo careers

    Segment 2: Banter and Trivia

Louisa: On a scale of 1 to 10, how unhinged are you people?

    Gabbi: like… a 15. Minimum.

Louisa: . See? You didn’t even hesitate.

Gabbi: There’s nothing to hesitate about! We were dedicated and committed. And probably Willing to go to war in a mall parking lot for a guy

Louisa: You say that like it’s normal.

Gabbi:if you heard a rumor that Harry was spotted at a random Whole Foods, wouldn’t you sprint there?

Louisa: uhhh No! I’d continue buying groceries like a sane person, but maybe want to crop a picture but like that's it! He's a person too and deserves to have his own space and function like a normal human being. But I know you would abandon carts, and dignity.

Gabbi: Dignity was never part of the One Direction experience. That’s step one but you wouldn't get out. You get in the fandom, you hand over your dignity, you pick up a poster, write a fan fiction and then you scream!

Louisa: Honestly that sounds like joining a cult. Common theme huh. Maybe we should rename this podcast so it reflects cults instead of fandoms

Gabbi: But it is a fun cult, though.

Louisa: CUTE? Gabbi, you people tracked flight numbers.

    Gabbi: Okay okay thats wierd

Louisa: This is why I can't be with you and your logic sometimes. You treat every bit of information like it’s national security intelligence.

Gabbi: Because it was to some people I guess! At any moment, the members could appear.

Louisa: You’re describing it like One Direction was the Hunger Games.

Gabbi: Hunger games??!!! I love the hunger games

    Louisa: I swear to God.

    Gabbi: you said it first

Louisa: Okay but honestly… Why are y’all so loud? Like astronomically loud. You could probably hear a Directioner scream from two zip codes away because I read there were so many noise complaints around concerts.

Gabbi: Because we have feelings duhh,

    Louisa: loud ones…

    Gabbi: Hey.

Louisa: I get emotional too but like never to the point where I’m sobbing so hard I can’t breathe because Liam winked.

Gabbi: Finee, but like who wouldnt want liam to wink at them yk

    Louisa: whatever dude

Gabbi: Anyways, i think we should bring back the trivia, so I'm going to give you three questions to answer

Louisa: oooh okay, trying to distract me from winning this argument I...

  • Magical Kingdom: Malicious Fans
    Nov 20 2025

    Hopewell Valley Student Podcasting Network

Show Name: The Fan & The Foe

    Episode Title: Disney Adults!!!

You are listening to the fan and the foe with your host(s), Gabbi and Louisa.

In this episode of The Fan and the Foe, we discuss the most magical place on earth, Disney

    Segment 1: Talk about it

Gabbi: This episode is a little different than normal because Louisa is actually a Disney fan, but I'm sure she will still have some input on the fans as she normally does. Typically, I'm the most avid follower in the studio, but today,my\y Louisa might have me beat, she is a pretty big Disney fan.

Louisa: BUT I WILL NOT BE A DISNEY ADULT. LET ME MAKE THAT CLEAR

Gabbi: Okay,y, okay. But anyways…Disney World is widely acknowledged as the most magical place in the world. But there are many magical places because the Disney franchise has parks all over the world, there are 2 locations in the US, Tokyo, Paris, and China. Louisa has actually been to the Paris parks. Why don’t you tell us a bit about how it was different from a park in the US?

Louisa: Ooooh, okay. I loved Disneyland Paris, because it was so easy to get to: all you had to do was take a train. The rides were also good because they were aimed towards an older audience, which I find some of theDisneyy parks lack. And of course, the food was also amazing.

Gabbi: Wow, you definitely know a bit more than I do. What do you think about cryogenic freezing?

Louisa: Whoa, what? Where did that come from, haah. That was quite the pivot.

Gabbi: Well, yeah, I had to catch you off guard there. There's a rumor that Walt Disney is frozen to be reincarnated one day.

Louisa: Oh, well, I have heard that. I think it's a bit odd, but I guess it's kinda cool. I wouldn’t personally do it, but who am I to judge?

Gabbi: I think that's fair. And that's the least weird thing we're going to mention today.

    Louisa: That's for sure.

Gabbi Fromm, what I do know, the whole franchise is built upon a series of movies and shows in which iconic characters like Mickey Mouse, Olaf, and Snow White all come from, along with all the other Disney characters, princesses, and villains alike.

Louisa: How dare you forget the ride?. The rides are why people go to Disney. I am still so pissed off that they got rid of the Rockin’ Rollercoaster. That was the best ride they have had, and now they're rebranding it.

Gabbi: Sorry for your loss. But Disney is also responsible for making New York the family-friendly tourist attraction it is today. Along with the governor of New York, Disney worked to make Broadway safer and a place people wanted to take their families. They opened their first show, Beauty and the Beas, and it was an automatic hit. It revolutionized the whole New York experience and made it somewhere everyone wanted to go. My first Broadway show was The Lion King, which is just SO good.

Segment 2: Banter over Disney adults

Louisa: I think we can both agree that there is one type of fan who always goes way too far with their love of Disney, and that is the Disney adult.

Gabbi: Disney adults freak me out. Like grown humans crying because they saw a guy in a mouse costume?

Louisa: They just really love the magic, I guess, but like go see a magician tf.

    Gabbi: Magic? It’s a $200-a-day theme park and a forty-minute line for a mid-tasting churro. That’s not magic.

Louisa: It’s nostalgia! They’re reliving the best parts of childhood….right?

Gabbi: Yeah, except childhood ends for a reason. You can’t be forty with a Disney backpack and still call it “core memory building.”

Louisa: Honestly, if it makes people happy, who cares? At least they’re not, like, crime-obsessed podcast people.

    Gabbi: I’d prefer a murder...

Show Name: The Fan & The Foe

    Episode Title: The Hunger Games

You are listening to The Fan and the Foe podcast with your host(s) Gabbi and Louisa.

In this episode of The Fan and The Foe, the Podcast, we discuss: The Hunger Games! Just a pre-show warning, I’ve been battling a cold the past few days, and am still getting my voice back.

Gabbi: That's quite the commitment right there

    Louisa: Yuppp

    Segment 1: Background info

Louisa: So, these last few episodes, I have had some idea as to what we were talking about, but for this episode, I have no clue about anything. If this is even correct, I know Katniss Evergreen exists and that's it, but for all I know, that's the wrong show…

Gabbi: Go off and explain what the Hunger Games are. After another American Civil War, the new America is separated into 12 districts, all of which provide for the lavish lives of the capital. District life is awful.. Not enough food, bad housing, you basically work until you die. To make everyone's life worse, they force each district to send 2 of its children to the capital every year to fight to the death. They claim it's punishment for the district's rebellion, but the rebellion was almost 75 years ago at the start of the books.

    Span 3 years

    Basic character rundown

    • Katniss Everdeen
    • Peeta Mellark
    • Gale Hawthorne
    • President Snow (spin-off book)
    • Haymitch Abernathy (another spin-off)

    District breakdown

    • 12- mining
    • 11- agriculture
    • 1- luxury goods
    • 6- lumber

There are 5 movies currently out and 5 books, with another movie coming out next November.

Explain the Hunger Games and what they force people to do

Some fans also debate what district they are in, or disgracefully, if they are capital.. So I think it would be fun to take another quiz and figure out what district we are in

What district are you in? Quiz

    Segment 2: Banter

    Discuss what we got.

Louisa: So basically what I'm hearing is there is a huge fandom surrounding the diabolical capture and murder of exploited children under capitalism and in this whole system I would be in ____ district

Gabbi: Yes, you would be! But to the fans, it's more than that; it is because of how immensely meaningful it is. Suzanne Collins, the writer of the books, makes sure that her books are extremely relevant to the political society in which we live. Her work is very well thought out.

Louisa: So, are we capturing and killing children just for a game in our society?

Gabbi: Well, maybe they don’t exactly mirror the political and social climate, but the fears they involve are very similar.
