  • Why Silence, Suffering, and Faith Shape Great Leaders w/Robert DeLaurentis
    Feb 4 2026

What happens when success no longer satisfies—and you realize there’s more you’re being called to?

In this powerful episode of The Cory Lee Show, Cory sits down with Robert DeLaurentiis, known around the world as The Peace Pilot—an aviation circumnavigator, Navy Gulf War veteran, author, philanthropist, and global ambassador for peace. Robert has flown solo across all seven continents, over both poles, through 53 countries, carrying scientific missions for NASA and the Scripps Institution of Oceanography—yet his greatest journey has been an inward one.

Robert shares the moment everything shifted: a quiet walk in a park that awakened him to the reality that achievement without awareness can leave you disconnected from purpose. From that moment, he began listening—deeply—and what followed was a life marked by radical obedience, faith-filled risk, and an unwavering commitment to something bigger than himself.

Throughout the conversation, Cory and Robert explore:

    • How to recognize when God is stirring something new within you

    • Why silence, stillness, and listening are essential for clarity and direction

    • The connection between faith, persistence, and resilience

    • What endurance—whether in business, life, or extreme adventures—reveals about who we’re becoming

    • Why giving more is often the key to receiving more

    • How failure, suffering, and discomfort shape us for future impact

    • Practical wisdom for getting off the sidelines when fear or finances feel like barriers

Robert also recounts harrowing moments from his polar circumnavigation—fuel spraying into the cockpit, life-or-death decisions, and the realization that the mission mattered more than his own safety. These stories become profound metaphors for leadership, sacrifice, and trusting God in uncertainty.

This episode is a reminder that you were created for more than comfort, that faith often requires movement, and that the most meaningful breakthroughs happen when we’re willing to listen—and then act.

If you’ve ever felt a quiet nudge, wrestled with fear, or questioned whether it’s worth taking the risk…this conversation is for you.CONNECT WITH ROBERT Email: ftlwithrobert@gmail.com Website: FlyingThruLife.com LinkedIn: in/RDelaurentis Check out his movie:

  • Unencumbered: Are We Busy or is it All A Lie?
    Jan 7 2026

Welcome to The Cory Lee Show! In this episode, Cory returns after a break and explains how a 40-day “brainwash fast” helped him recognize the constant distractions in daily life. He cut out social media, books, podcasts, and most entertainment, allowing just the Bible and worship music. The aim was to silence outside noise and discover what was really shaping his thoughts and habits.

One unexpected benefit was improved sleep, as his mind wasn’t so rushed and overstimulated. Cory and his family also realized how much time they spent just keeping busy—even when it wasn’t necessary. The fast revealed how easy it is to be distracted, and how we often fill downtime with things like social media, trading, or games just to keep our minds occupied.

He reflects on the meaning of the word "entertain,” noting it literally means “to hold your mind,” which can often just be a distraction. Cory highlights the importance of evaluating experiences rather than just living them, drawing on biblical examples like Hebrews 12 to encourage listeners to lay aside distractions—anything that pulls attention from their purpose.

A key lesson was recognizing that personal worth isn’t defined by constant activity or productivity. During the fast, Cory wrestled with feelings of frustration and worthlessness when he wasn’t busy, realizing how deep-rooted this thinking can be. He encourages listeners to see value in simply being present with God, instead of always “doing.”

Several personal stories punctuate the episode, including Cory's experience officiating his first wedding and funeral in the same week. He shares how stepping outside his comfort zone and intentionally connecting with others allowed new opportunities for encouragement and prayer—even when outcomes weren’t what he expected.

A powerful takeaway from this season is the call to remove “encumbrances”—even good things that become distractions—so you can stay focused on faith and purpose. Cory shares a vivid dream highlighting how easy it is to become a disengaged follower, distracted by the noise around us instead of seeking God’s presence.

He closes by reminding listeners that when God reveals things in our hearts, it’s not for shame, but for healing. Cory encourages you to evaluate your own distractions, lay them down, and return your focus to what matters most.
