Welcome back to The Captivate Standard!
In this episode of The Captivate Standard, host Ireland Walker is first joined with Captivate Wellness' co-founder and medical director Dr. Rebecca Reeves. Dr. Reeves discusses the evolving landscape of weight loss, particularly focusing on GLP-1 medications and their impact on obesity treatment. She emphasizes the importance of her very own comprehensive approach called the SLIM Weight Loss Program, that includes lifestyle changes, mental health considerations, and the need for long-term maintenance.
The conversation also touches on cultural pressures regarding body image and the significance of support systems in achieving health goals. Following Dr. Reeves, RN, Karen Lorenc and LPN, Rylie Lang, two nurses at Captivate Wellness, share their experience working with patients on the program. They share insights on patient care, the importance of emotional connections, and the role of nutrition in achieving weight loss goals. The conversation also addresses common misconceptions about GLP-1 medications and the future of research in this area, and the importance of accountability and support in the journey.
