• Love Lavished - Light and Life - 1 John 3
    Feb 4 2026
When I think of being pampered, my mind goes straight to rare spa days or the simple joy of someone else cooking for me—those small, unexpected moments that feel abundant and thoughtful. It struck me recently that the way those gestures make me feel seen and cared for is just a tiny glimpse of the over‑the‑top, beyond‑expectation love God pours out on us every day. That’s the kind of lavish love John invites us to notice, receive, and ultimately reflect as we follow Jesus.

  • What Light Loves - Light and Life - 1 John 2
    Feb 3 2026
I’ll never forget the day my son wandered straight into the path of a speeding bike, completely unaware while I called his name louder and louder. My frustration wasn’t really about his behavior—it was that he didn’t hear me when I was trying to protect him, when all I wanted was for him to trust that I was guiding him toward safety. That moment has stayed with me, because it mirrors what God desires from us too: not perfection, but a heart that listens and trusts as we learn to walk in His light.

  • Light Purifies - Light and Life - 1 John 1
    Feb 2 2026
Sometimes I think about how few things I’ve truly seen “from the beginning.” Even with my own kids—whom I met on their very first day—I’m still discovering who they’re becoming, reminding me that most beginnings start long before we ever notice them. John opens his letter by pointing us back to the One who was there from the very beginning, inviting us into a fellowship that’s been unfolding since before any of us took our first breath.

  • Early Church Leaders - Prompted By Faith - Acts 16, Romans 16
    Jan 30 2026
Have you ever read a familiar passage and suddenly a detail jumps out that you somehow missed every other time? It’s amazing how one small shift in what we notice can open up an entirely new perspective. That’s how it’s been for me as I’ve revisited the women of the early church—women whose names I recognized, but whose courage, leadership, and faithfulness I’m only now beginning to fully appreciate.

  • The Woman With the Issue of Blood - Prompted By Faith - Mark 5
    Jan 29 2026
Crowds can bring out the best or worst in us, and I still remember the first time I stepped into one after the pandemic—my heart raced, my chest tightened, and I had to escape just to breathe again. So when I read the story of the woman who pushed through a crushing crowd just to reach Jesus, I can only imagine the courage it took for her to show up in her pain, her isolation, and her desperation. Her story reminds us that even when we feel unseen or defined by the things we’d rather hide, Jesus meets us with healing, dignity, and a tenderness that calls us by faith, not by our suffering.

  • Jehosheba and Huldah - Prompted By Faith - 2 Kings 11, 22
    Jan 28 2026
Some days it feels like my boundaries are made of wet tissue paper—I know what I should say no to, yet I cave anyway and deal with the fallout later. Thankfully, God gives us the Spirit as a steady inner guide, even when our resolve wobbles and the consequences of giving in become painfully clear. Today’s story reminds us that God’s people have struggled with this too, and that sometimes courage looks like resisting the pressure around us and choosing faithfulness over the easy yes.

  • Abigail - Prompted By Faith - 1 Samuel 25
    Jan 27 2026
Sometimes the smallest things—like a missed snack—can turn an ordinary day into a full‑blown disaster, and any parent who’s navigated toddler life knows exactly what I mean. That very real phenomenon we call 'hanger' doesn’t just show up in modern family outings; it even shows up in Scripture. Today we’re looking at Abigail, a woman whose wisdom (and well‑timed food delivery) diffused a crisis far bigger than a toddler meltdown, reminding us how grounded faith can steady us when emotions run hot.

  • Deborah and Jael - Prompted By Faith - Judges 4
    Jan 26 2026
Sometimes we read the Bible and forget that its women weren’t background characters—they were fierce, faithful, and fully present in God’s story. This past year, as I studied Women in the Bible, I was struck by how their steady, everyday faith positioned them for bold action when the moment came. Two such women, Deborah and Jael, stepped into history not as placeholders, but as powerful leaders through whom God delivered Israel, reminding us that courage and calling are never limited by gender.
