Thanks for joining us for this episode of That’s Why We’re Friends.

The podcast is created for women in the oldish season of life, where we get real & vulnerable about all things faith, family, our bodies, health & everything in between.

If you’re looking for a space to laugh & cry about the real stuff, this is it!

    This week on That’s Why We’re Friends…

In this episode, we sit down with Debby Wade, a Certified Christian Sex Therapist, for a thoughtful and grace-filled conversation about sex and intimacy in marriage. Together, we explore God’s design for sex within marriage, what healthy intimacy truly looks like, and how what happens in the bedroom affects what happens outside of it, and vice versa. We talk about communication around physical touch, emotional connection, and desire, as well as what Scripture says about intimacy between a husband and wife. This is a deep, honest conversation meant to open the door, not close it - a starting point for couples to begin talking, listening, and growing together. As Debby reminds us, one of the greatest pathways to intimacy in marriage is clear, loving communication.

    This week on That’s Why We’re Friends…

We start this conversation with plenty of laughter—Erin cheering on Cara’s love of Crocs and then teaming up with Sara to lovingly roast her over Valentine’s candy hearts—but quickly move into a rich and meaningful discussion about phileo love: brotherly, friendship-based love. Joined by Erin Schreyer, we talk about what it really looks like to leave people better than we found them, to choose commitment over convenience, and to be intentional in our friendships. Erin shares powerful stories of how she reached out and loved her community well during the Covid lockdowns, reminding us that loving others often requires sacrifice. This episode is a beautiful reminder of how vital women’s friendships are—and how living out brotherly love can transform not only our relationships, but the communities God has placed us in.

    This week on That’s Why We’re Friends…

In this episode, we kick things off with a quick getaway recap, a little laughter about being this close to cake, and a fun detour into old favorites like The Love Boat and Gilligan’s Island. But then we dive into something much deeper: what it really means to live loved. We talk about why it’s impossible to truly love others if we don’t know—deep in our bones—that we are already loved by God. From the different types of love to God’s definition of love shown through Christ’s sacrifice, we explore how identity, control, and surrender all shape the way we love. Living loved isn’t something we fall into—it’s something we are formed by. And when we anchor our lives in the truth that God lavishes His perfect love on us, it becomes a gift not only to us, but to everyone we love.
