Fatty liver disease has become a silent epidemic, affecting an estimated 1 in 4 Americans including children. It is now the #1 reason women require liver transplants, yet many remain unaware they even have the condition.

In this episode of the Pitchable Story, we meet Terri Milton, a patient advocate from Houston, Texas. As a Mexican American, she belongs to a group with up to six genetic variants linked to increased risk of liver disease. Diagnosed with MASH (Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis), Terri’s journey highlights the urgent need for awareness, early detection, and access to care.

Her story also highlights a new chapter in liver health: for the first time, an FDA-approved drug is offering hope by reversing the progression of this disease. Through Terri’s courage and advocacy, we aim to shed light on a condition that has remained in the shadows for far too long.
