• Worship // Clark Buys // Worship as an adventure into reality
    Feb 22 2026

What difference does worship make when the world feels unstable, fragile and driven by powerful forces beyond our control?

In this talk, we step into Revelation 4 and 5, where John is given an unveiling of ultimate reality. Beneath the surface of empire, anxiety and fragile peace, he sees a throne in heaven. And at the centre of that throne, not a violent conqueror, but a Lamb who was slain.

This vision redefines power, reframes history, and reshapes our allegiance. Worship is not escapism or emotional distraction. It is, in Willard Sperry’s words, “a deliberate and disciplined adventure in reality.” As we worship, we are recentered on the One who truly reigns, and reformed into the likeness of the Lamb.

In a world that feels loud and unsteady, this is an invitation to see more clearly, trust more deeply, and discover again a God truly worth worshipping.

  • Worship // Clark Buys // The heart of worship: (Re)forming the soul with song
    Feb 1 2026

Why do Christians sing, week after week? In this talk, we take a look “under the bonnet” of sung worship and explore what is happening beneath the surface. Drawing on Psalm 115, we consider the formative power of worship, becoming like what we trust and revere, and the cultural “stories” that quietly shape our hearts: consumerism, producerism, and individualism. From there, we turn to a simple framework for spiritual formation through worship: habits (repetition over time), body (embodied participation), and community (being formed with and for one another). The invitation is not towards performance, entertainment, or emotional hype, but towards opening the heart to the living presence of God, allowing the story of Scripture to be rehearsed, received, and slowly written into the deepest places of who we are.

  • Embodied // Kate Middleton // Security
    Jan 25 2026

Of all the emotions we struggle with, anxiety is perhaps the most tricky: a vital human emotion but so often overwhelming, even suffocating in its intensity and impact. How do we manage anxiety - particularly in seasons where there IS a lot to worry about, when it feels like we're at the end of ourselves and our comfort zone is a distant memory? And what can we learn from an episode in the life of Jesus and the disciples when he seems to lead them into chaos? Join Kate as she explores how we can find courage in chaos and learn to root our security in the one thing we can rely on when we feel pushed beyond our very human limits - God's limitless love, authority and power.

  • Embodied // Kate Middleton // Emotions
    Jan 18 2026

Emotions (especitally the negative ones!) are one of the most challenging aspects of what it is to be human. We feel under so much pressure to stay in control, stay calm, hold back or even eradicate those negative emotions. We see this is a sign of maturity - and in the church all too often we can think this is a mark of spiritual maturity as well. But Jesus experienced emotions. Join Kate as she explores why this is so important and what it means for our understanding of the purpose of emotions in our healthy functioning minds. But how do we manage our emotions well when we know they are getting us into trouble?

  • Embodied // Kate Middleton // Limits
    Jan 11 2026

Kate kicks off a new short series thinking about what Jesus modelled as God living with the human brain and body he designed. What can we learn about how he embraced the limitations of what it is to be human? How does this challenge our culture of pushing limits and chasing the superhuman? And what might Jesus have to say to us in our moments of overwhelm and the start of a new year?
