Welcome to Sourcerer ⦿
In this first batch of our long form Echologues, we are tuning into the open sourcery of iconoclastic and pioneering contemporary artists.
In this latest Echologue we are delighted to be able to talk to Kostas Papakostas about his journey from graduating from art school, into then stepping into the world of communication agencies, which then saw him working on some of the biggest brand campaigns in the world.
We then follow him to his creative epiphany at an artist’s retreat in a remote village up a Bulgarian mountain, which spurred him to commence painting again and start to reclaim his self and inner space as a practicing visual artist. A shift which led to setting up his own successful studio in East London culminating in the opening of his first major solo show in Seoul for one month.
It’s a rare and intimate chance to listen to a very personal arc of a creative’s emerging journey and evolving artistic practice. To lean in as a new identity and sense of creative self knocks at the door again and starts to authentically re-emerge, gather flux and reclaim resonant momentum.
