We have a habit of sabotaging ourselves and then building paralyzing blockades to growth that we politely call fears. Some of them are abstract. Some are absurd. Some are so normalized we stop questioning them. Take Mondays. Not the casual groan, but the full-blown anxiety spiral people get as Sunday night creeps in. There’s even a name for it: lunaediesophobia. Fear dressed up as routine.
Anything that triggers unresolved trauma or sustained misery becomes a fear factory. We don’t fear the day itself. We fear the sensations tied to it. The dread. The powerlessness. The reminder that we’ve tolerated something that drains us. So we panic in advance instead of addressing the source.
Here’s the part people don’t want to hear. You have control over every situation you choose not to control. You may not be able to change your coworkers. You may not be able to quit your job tomorrow. But you can change how you engage, how you respond, and how quickly you move toward something better. When you do that work, the fear fades. And you’ll realize how much energy you wasted panicking instead of repositioning.
Every challenge shows up to redirect you. Not punish you. Fear is a signal, not a sentence. But you have to choose a perspective that supports growth instead of feeding despair. That choice is where most people fail.
I talk about faith because this is where hypocrisy really shines. Too many people claim they’re deeply faithful while being terrified of everything. If you truly believe in Source, Creator, God—whatever name you use—then remember this: when it’s your time, it’s your time. That’s the one thing you cannot negotiate or outmaneuver. So why the hell are you shrinking your life around imaginary threats?
Fake faith sounds like this: “I trust God, but…” The moment you add the but, you’ve told the truth. You don’t trust. You hedge. You bargain. You stall. Then you have the audacity to pray and ask why nothing’s working while offering counterfeit love and conditional belief. You’re lying to God and you’re lying to yourself.
If you loved yourself unconditionally, fear wouldn’t run the show. Anxiety wouldn’t get to dictate your decisions. Fear exists to sharpen you, not cage you. It’s meant to push you forward, not decay you in place.
So stop pretending. Stop fake loving yourself. Stop fake believing. If everything keeps falling apart, this is why. Love Source the way you claim to. Love yourself the same way. Love others as much. Not just when it’s comfortable. Especially when it’s not.
Fear is an ouroboros. It feeds on itself. Until you break the loop.
