Welcome to Shanktification: Golf, grace, and the beautiful struggle for perfection.

What happens when our sanctification journey starts to look a lot like a shank?

In this weekly 15-minute conversation, we explore how the game of golf is filled with moments that mirror the gospel message—revealing lessons about grace, humility, perseverance, and growth.

Whether you’re curious about Jesus or have followed Him for years, and whether you love golf or are still learning to love it, you’ll find a place here. The highs, the lows, the frustration, and the beauty of the game all point us toward something deeper.

This isn’t about having it all figured out. It’s about walking the process together—learning, growing, and celebrating the journey as we go.

It was a beautiful day on the golf course. The sun was out, the round was going well, and life felt normal. Then, without warning, a golf ball came screaming out of nowhere.

One second I was enjoying the round. The next, I was on my way to the emergency room with missing teeth, stitches, and a story I never expected to tell.

In this episode of Shanktification, we talk about what happens when life blindsides us. Not just on the golf course, but in our marriages, careers, health, and faith. Sometimes the hardest part isn't the pain itself—it's how quickly normal can disappear.

We'll explore what the book of Job teaches us about unexpected suffering, why God doesn't always explain the "why" behind our wounds, and how faith can hold us together when life hits harder than we ever imagined.

Because sooner or later, every one of us will take a shot we never saw coming.

The question is: What do we do after impact?

Grab your clubs, hop in the cart, and let's talk about the lessons that sometimes arrive at 120 miles per hour.

There’s something special about being the first one on the golf course.

The dew still clings to the grass. The air is cool and quiet. The sun is just beginning to rise. For a few moments, it feels like the entire course belongs to you.

Most golfers know the feeling, but few of us stop to consider why we love it so much.

In this episode of Shanktification, we explore the peaceful solitude of the first tee time and what it can teach us about our relationship with God. Jesus regularly withdrew to lonely places to pray, yet many of us struggle to spend even a few quiet moments alone with Him. Why is solitude so difficult? What are we missing in a world filled with constant noise, notifications, and distractions?

Join us as we discover how the tranquility of an early morning round points to a deeper spiritual truth: sometimes the most important conversations happen when everything else gets quiet.

Because maybe the reason we love the first tee time isn't just the golf.

    Maybe it's the peace.

What if the next generation isn’t the future of the church… but a vital part of it right now?

In this episode, we explore the power, potential, and purpose of younger believers who are hungry for something deeper than surface-level faith. From cultural pressure and identity struggles to bold faith and spiritual influence, this conversation challenges the idea that youth equals spiritual immaturity.

Inspired by passages like 1 Timothy 4:12, this episode is a call for younger Christians to lead with authenticity, courage, and conviction—and for the church to believe in them, invest in them, and walk alongside them.

A hopeful and challenging conversation about influence, discipleship, purpose, and building a faith that lasts.
