We've finally caught up to the present...the past...whenever it is...we're talking Stranger Things 4, gentle souls. It's arguably the most gruesome season, but it's also probably our favourite. It's thematically rich and introduces new characters that capture (and break) our hearts. Frankenstein, The Empire Strikes Back, A Nightmare On Elm Street, and Silence Of The Lambs are all key texts for this season--and we love it! Welcome back, gentle souls! We’re recapping the final episode of The New Scooby-Doo Mysteries, The Nutcracker Scoob (1984). Other than The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo, we're not super familiar with 1980s Scooby-Doo so this was an adventure. The Scooby gang got an unfortunate update for the 1980s, with Velma being replaced by the insufferable Scrappy-Doo. Mystery solving gets over-shadowed by hijinks and too many Christmas references. And Bethany’s got some theories about the influence of Ronald Reagan on the episode’s villain…

Code Red, gentle souls! On Friday, we’re flashing back to the summer of 1985. Remember the mall? Remember summer break shenanigans with friends? Remember…a giant goo monster terrorizing you while the Russians invade your small town? Just us?

The Stranger Things family continues to grow this season, with the addition of Maya Hawke’s Robin and the promotion of Priah Ferguson’s Erica to regular cast. We are both here for every moment with our beloved Scoops Troop. We’re less fond of the simplification of Hopper’s character into a brawling action cop. We talk influences, that mall culture vibe, and the sweetest Russian scientist to ever grace the screen: our dearly departed Alexei.
