The UK has not had National Service since 1960, with the last of those serving discharged in 1963. After World War II, there was a need to maintain military manpower in parts of the world. Beginning in 1949, physically fit males between 17 and 21 had to serve in one of the armed forces for 18 months. Our debut focuses on the modern-day implementation of National Service, and would it work?
