This week, we talk about #Wonderland , a 2003 #American #crime #drama #film , based on the real-life #WonderlandMurders that occurred in #1981 . The film stars #ValKilmer , #KateBosworth , #DylanMcDermott , #CarrieFisher , #LisaKudrow , #JoshLucas , #ChristinaApplegate , #TimBlakeNelson , and #JaneaneGarofalo . Kilmer plays the role of #JohnHolmes , a famous pornographic film star and suspected accomplice in four grisly #murders committed in a house at #8763WonderlandAvenue , in the #LaurelCanyon section of #LosAngeles . The film uses a nonlinear #Rashomon -style #narrative structure to present conflicting accounts of the murders from differing perspectives. Last week, we talked about #TheWonderlandmurders , also known as the #FourontheFloorMurders or the #LaurelCanyonMurders , are four #unsolvedmurders that occurred in #LosAngeles on July 1, 1981. It is assumed that five people were targeted to be killed in the known drug house of the #WonderlandGang , three of whom— #RonLaunius , #BillyDeverell , and #JoyMiller —were present. Launius, Deverell, and Miller, along with the girlfriend of an accomplice, #BarbaraRichardson , died from extensive #bluntforcetrauma injuries. Only Launius' wife Susan survived the attack, allegedly masterminded by organized crime figure and nightclub owner #EddieNash . Nash, his henchman #GregoryDiles , and porn actor #JohnHolmes were at various times arrested, tried, and acquitted for their involvement in the murders.
