Before the Book of Mormon went to press, John Whitmar copied down the "doctrine of Christ" contained in it. It was this doctrine that was taught at the very beginning. However, after the Book of Mormon was printed it was all but put away. There are no sermons, no records of teachings, classes, expounding on the doctrine and the content contained in the Book of Mormon available in early church history. It is seldom mentioned. Instead a very different church emerged under the leadership of Joseph Smith who conveniently called himself as a prophet through revelation. (which came from him). The topics that allured early saints to the movement were an incorrect concept of Zion, a living prophet. a tale of a city right around the corner with the imminent return of Jesus christ, an authority restored to the earth in the form of priesthood who had keys to mysteries and secret things from heaven not available to the common members. A new church took shape with doctrines and teachings far removed from the simple gospel contained in the Book of Mormon
The gentiles continue to stumble in favor of the teachings of a man - Joseph Smith - instead of the gospel contained in the Book of Mormon that had just become available- preserved for thousands of years. This continues to this day. Which begs the Question.....will the Gentiles ever really embrace the Book of Mormon gospel of Jesus Christ?

One of the most convoluted, complicated, involved teaching in the restoration is teaching about the resurrection and eternal life. Multiple resurrections, multiple eternal resting places, repentance after death, paradise, hell, the prison, celestial glory, telestial glory ......on and on it goes. How many of these teachings have been represented in church study materials such as the "Go ye and teach" curriculum, Sunday school classes, sermons, etc. How much of this information is misrepresented from the bible scriptures taken out of context, or manipulated to try and fit later revelations and teachings to mesh together? How much of this information is found in the Book of Mormon ? This video and several to follow will look at what the scriptures actually teach about the resurrection and how Joseph Smith greatly misunderstood the scriptures, producing revelation and doctrine that does not line up with previous scripture found in the Book of Mormon and bible. The story is not what we have been taught. And the story is so very important, as we learn and understand the truth, we find that each and every day we are alive in the flesh is so very important. Join us on this journey as we look at what the Word actually says about the Resurrection and what happens to us when we die.

What does it really mean to accept Jesus? "Have you accepted Jesus into your heart? Have you been saved? Have you accepted Jesus as your Savior?" Some may have been asked these questions. You may have asked them yourself. But what is the real meaning of these phrases? What does it really mean "to accept Jesus as your personal savior"? There is a deeper understanding beyond many common Christian teachings - It also ties in to discovering what real Grace is. It is imperative we understand this not only for our salvation one day in heaven but.....to truly live now. To be ALIVE. Not just to merely exist one day after another undtil our heart stops beating. True joy, peace, freedom, and most importantly Love can be experienced today, here, now. But it does not come cheaply or easily. This episode looks at what the word truly says about grace, accepting Jesus, and salvation. Men stumble because of false teachings and misunderstandings, false traditions passed down from others. It is most important we constantly return to the word of God to see what He says. As has become our great joy, we look at clarification and additional understanding that comes from the word in the Book of Mormon as well as the bible.

The Book of Mormon brings clarity to common christian debates such as: "What does it mean to be saved?". "Once you are saved can you lose your salvation?" "Can you be plucked out of your Father's Hand?" It also brings clarity to misunderstanding in restoration circles due to revelations that came later after the Book of Mormon and muddy the waters, changing the gospel even. In this episode as we sort through this misinformation, follow up from last episode on baptism, and clarify God's judgement and plan for eternal life with Him using the plain gospel and writing's found in the Book of Mormon .

Eternal Marriage is one of the leading doctrines of the LDS church. Joseph Smith also touched on this subject. We do not discuss in detail whether Joseph Smith practiced polygamy and eternal marriage or not but rather look at what the scriptures actually say about marriage and it's purpose. Included is a brief history of Jewish or Hebrew marriage traditions and how they relate to scripture as well as Restoration history and how the idea of Eternal Marriage was introduced. Finally we look at the purpose of marriage at about the 1 hour mark.

Baptism in restoration culture has been associated with joining "the true church". We even have a prayer we say while laying hands on a person after the water baptism often referred to as "the confirmation" confirming one a member of "the church". The Book of Mormon adds depth and understanding to the act of baptism. It connects it on a very deep yet simple level to repentance. Baptism is often looked at as an act that "saves you" and allows you entrance into the Kingdom of God. There are various views among different christian organizations as to what baptism actually is. Is it necessary or not? Is it an afterthought, a choice, a commandment? Does it save you? The additional clarity that comes from the Book of Mormon leaves no room for misunderstanding. Baptism doesn't save you, repentance does, by allowing the blood of CHRIST to wash you clean. Baptism is the first fruit of that repentance.

New evidence continues to come forth showing the isolation doctrine we were taught is far from the truth. Much activity took place long before Columbus "discovered" America in 1492. As artifacts and other evidence comes forth we can see that people many more peoples visited the Americas from the eastern hemisphere then we were taught in school growing up. Not only were there visitors to this continent, but there was understanding of Jesus dateing long before the 1400's. America was not as "isolated" as we have been told.
