  • Declan Kavanagh in conversation about queer literature studies, effeminacy and identity

    Join Dr Declan Kavanagh (he/them) in this fascinating discussion on the discovery of the interior life throughout works of queer literature and the subsequent exploration of LGBTQ+ identities. Speaking on their work into the role of effeminacy and its intersection with politics and power, and the exciting prospect of the power bottom subverting the norms of penetration and power. This episode promises to be an exciting queer literary journey from the 18th Century to the present.

    Join Dr Koen Slootmaeckers (he/him) in discussion about his work exploring LGBTQ+ politics in Serbia. This conversation explores the interplay between EU Accession and LGBTQ+ rights in Serbia and the upcoming EuroPride taking place in Serbia’s capital, Belgrade.
    This episode was recorded on 19th August 2022, prior to the announcement from the Serbian President that EuroPride would be cancelled. The event has not been cancelled and you can read the statement given by EuroPride on their website here.
