Reality Rewind with Megan Recap The Real Housewives of Rhode Island – Season 1, Episode 3
Episode 3 is where The Real Housewives of Rhode Island really starts to hit its stride—bringing us drama, personality, and, finally, the taglines. And honestly? They're all perfect. Each one fits the women and their storylines so far. My personal favourite has to be Jo-Ellen's: “I am not trying to be mean. I just mean what I say.” It sums her up completely.
Ashley continues to shine in her confessionals—she's witty, sharp, and delivers some great one-liners. Now I just need her to bring that same energy into the group scenes, because if she does, she could easily become one of the breakout stars.
We kick off the episode with ongoing chatter about the rumours surrounding Rulla and Liz's relationships, and things escalate quickly. Jo-Ellen doesn't hold back, claiming Brian went as far as emailing her workplace in an attempt to get her fired and silence her. It's a huge accusation and really sets the tone for the episode.
Alicia is such a standout this week—quirky, funny, and effortlessly entertaining. I can already see her becoming a fan favourite. Her conversation about her home life adds a more personal layer, and it'll be interesting to see if this experience pushes her husband to give her more credit.
Rulla hosts a brunch with friends outside the show, and the vibe feels very “yes people only.” It's a noticeable contrast to the tension we see within the main group. We also get dinner dates with Ashley and her husband, and Rosie and hers—moments that are meant to feel grounded but still leave an impression.
Then we get to the main event: Gerry's Studio 54–themed party.
Kelsey shows up looking absolutely stunning—she really doesn't miss. Rulla arrives with her husband, and the energy between them is noticeably awkward. Kelsey's boyfriend is also there, but this time as Gerry's friend, which adds another layer to the already complicated dynamic involving Dino—who also makes an appearance. Kelsey does her best to ignore him, but it's clear there's more to that story, and we'll definitely be unpacking it in future episodes.
We also get a fun surprise cameo from Dolores, which is a nice little crossover moment for Housewives fans.
But of course, the real drama kicks off with the big confrontation: Rulla and her husband versus Jo-Ellen and her husband. It's tense, messy, and exactly what you expect from a Housewives showdown. Brian, who's been central to the drama, suddenly goes quiet during it all—which doesn't go unnoticed. Jo-Ellen's husband, on the other hand, is firmly in her corner, backing her all the way. Jo-Ellen even jokes that his loyalty will earn him some rewards later… and honestly, fair enough.
In true chaotic fashion, speeches start happening while arguments are still unfolding in the background. After the confrontation, Brian and Rulla make a quick exit, and once they're in the car, she immediately questions why he stayed silent—so clearly, that tension is far from over.
Meanwhile, Liz has definitely had a few too many drinks, and things spiral quickly. Kelsey says something that triggers her, and Liz completely loses it—screaming and yelling at Kelsey in the bedroom in a full-blown meltdown that's as uncomfortable as it is explosive.
All in all, this episode delivers big on drama, character development, and shifting dynamics. Lines are being drawn, cracks are starting to show, and it feels like things are only going to get messier from here—which is exactly what we want.
