    HELLO!!!
Where the hell have we been??? Busy with life but missing the luxury of reading and watching. Thought with summer this one would be appropriate, 1974 Peter Benchley classic and subsequent 1975 Steven Spielberg movie, Jaws. Just when you thought the beach was safe…it is well at least from the main character….listen to us and find out why.

We will post R2 in two weeks and are very much trying to get back to a regular schedule. Thank you to those who reached out, it makes us like doing this even more.

    Happy summer everyone!

Here comes Round 2 of the 2023 Oscar winning movie and 1992 novel, Poor Things. It’s the second round so there will be lots of spoilers so hopefully you read, watched, did both, neither or just decided to listen. This novel by Alasdair Gray and the movie starring Emma Stone, Willem Dafoe, Ramy Youssef and Mark Ruffalo was quite a discussion. We went a little longer on this episode as DeeAnn got long winded (anticipation for the movie or maybe too much wine).
Join us as we talk all things about the story and the comparisons between the book vs movie. Spoiler alert: the movie and the book have completely different endings and we will definitely let you know both.

Another older but …gooder(???) story about a Jersey girl turned bounty hunter in this 1994 first novel in the series of many by Janet Evanovich. Join us we discuss why the hugely successful series with protagonist Stephanie Plum and the subsequent move with Katherine Heigl, Debbie Reynolds, Jason O’Mara and John Lequizamo have such different outcomes. Why is there over 30 books written in the successful book series but only one movie made?
Scott and DeeAnn are on the case.

Listen to Round 1 for all things background and we will see you again in a couple of weeks for Round 2 for a deeper dive into this light-hearted, romantic, comedy set in Trenton, New Jersey.

  • Flowers In The Attic by VC Andrews Round 2
    Feb 8 2024

    Send us a Text Message.

Here we go again, we are going to keep this train wreck going by really plunging into the “nitty gritty” of VC Andrews’ first novel and most infamous 1979 story, Flowers in the Attic along with the 2014 screen version starring Heather Graham and Ellen Burstyn.

As we said for Round 1, this is a super sensationalized story about family dysfunction. If you do not want to hear about, child abuse, sexual assault, (and a lot more) again not the story for you. If you are still game, join this marketed-to-young- adults jaw dropping tale!

Also we do want to add that there is some terminology used by us that we realize there is a better preferred choice but we were in the moment and again we are talking about a very fictional, dramatic, over-the-top story that even our Gen Xer minds are trying to digest.

You have been warned - we do joke (it’s fiction remember) so listen with a grain of salt and humor or a groan if the joke is too much.

Oh boy, this is quite the episode. If you know nothing about VC Andrews and her first and most infamous 1979 story, Flowers in the Attic, this may not be the episode for you. Scott and DeeAnn dive into all things book as well as the 2014 screen version starring Heather Graham and Ellen Burstyn.

This is a very Over-theTop, sensationalized story about family dysfunction. If you do not want to hear about, child abuse, sexual assault, (and a lot more) again not the story for you. If you are still game, join this marketed-to-young- adults jaw dropping tale! No wonder why Gen X shock value bar is so high (and littered with sarcasm of course).

You have been warned - no Goody Two Shoes allowed for this one;)
