In this episode, Paige enlists Kyle's help when a teacher is found dead at Magic School, but the investigation leads to the two of them getting trapped in a 30's crime novel where they must end the story in order to escape. Meanwhile, Phoebe is on a matchmaker kick and trying to help get Piper and Leo back on track, though they also end up having to play a role in getting Kyle and Paige back by doing their own detective work and adding their own twists to the story.
