• Ep27; Being Human #5; Róisín Ingle
    Apr 15 2026

In this episode we talk to writer and journalist Róisín Ingle.

Róisín's writing has been a part of a lot of people's weeks over the years.

Her weekly columns are engaging, thought-provoking, personal …. sometimes poignant, often very funny.

She has written about the human condition as she sees it and in doing so has helped many people /

In this conversation you'll hear her speak openly about her cancer diagnosis, her dad's suicide, and a lot more.

Róisín is particularly strong on equanimity – the ability to remain calm and non-reactive when good or bad things happen to us.

There's a lot of hard-earned wisdom in this chat.

  • Ep21; Being Human #4; Siobhán McSweeney
    Apr 8 2026

Our guest on this episode is actor, presenter and Cork person, Siobhán McSweeney.

    Siobhán is brilliant.

She is thoughtful, funny, articulate and a real joy to talk to.

Brought up in Aherla (Population 562), Siobhán studied science in UCC before she went to London to pursue a career in acting.

She was a successful theatre actor until her world changed when she was cast by Lisa McGee in Derry Girls as the brilliantly funny and acerbic Sr. Michael.

Since then, she has proven herself, not only as a successful screen actor but also as a hugely popular front lady / presenter on The Great Pottery Throw Down and The Traitors Ireland.

In our chat Siobhán talks about the oddness, as she describes it, of a career in acting and the safe space of the stage.

We also chat about death, mortality and her impatience with scientists for not inventing immortality.
