Hosted and created by Logan Partridge, this podcast travels around the world, meeting people from our thriving rainbow community who are changing perceptions, resisting oppression, challenging societal norms and building community where they live.

Series 1 begins in Brazil and ends in Mexico. Along the way you will meet; the director of a LGBTQ+ Youth refuge, the founder of a ballroom/vogueing community, a trans capoeira/vogueing performance artist, queer tango dancers, lesbian and bisexual women's rights activists and community builders, the founder of a traveling queer history museum, founders of a queer activist community group and employees from a queer bookstore and community space.

Each episode we talk about why we stand up, stand out and come together for each other every day and why living your truth is the most powerful way to fight our oppressor - wherever you are in the world.

  • A Queer Bookstore and Sanctuary - Somos Voces, Mexico City.
    Jan 9 2024

Happy New Year! It's probably an odd time to be releasing the final episode of the season but sometimes life just works out that way!

I hope you're doing well and are starting 2024 in the way you had envisioned.

This week we are in Mexico City meeting Caleb and Jose Armando from Somos Voces (https://www.somosvoces.com.mx/), a queer bookstore, café, events and community outreach space. They do it all! I had a great chat with Caleb and Jose Armando and really loved seeing everything that Somos Voces offer the queer community of CDMX. It was especially heart warming to see how much the work the team do means to them personally. They really have created something beautiful and being a lover of a bookstore it really made my heart sing.

Now that this season is coming to a close, I'd love to hear from you about what you thought and what more you'd like to see. Maybe you even know somewhere you think has a story to tell, or you have a story of your own. Write to me and let's talk! Instagram: @queerworldpodcast or email: queerworldpodcast@gmail.com.

If we get some good conversation going, maybe I'll do a little bonus episode and read some out.

Thank you so much for any and all of the episodes you've listened to. This has been a really fulfilling experience for me personally and I hope this is just the beginning! Loads of love!

  • Queer Activism and Wellbeing with Status Queer - Quito, Ecuador.
    Dec 19 2023

Hello and thanks for coming back if you've been here before. If you're new, welcome to Queer World Podcast! It's great to have you with us!

This week, I am telling you about my meeting with 2 members of Status Queer, a community led activist and social group based in Quito, Ecuador.

In February 2023 I went to one of Status Queer's social events where I interviewed the lovely Ricardo and Jorge Luis about what the group do.

There are multiple sides to Status Queer; there is Queer Labs, in which they create research and data sourcing groups to gather statistics and stories about life for LGBTQ+ Ecuadorians with the aim of creating policy reform and recommendation plans for institutions and government. There is also Queer n' Chill, a social meetup that offers an opportunity for the community to meet, connect and get in touch with themselves in a supportive environment of their queer peers.

Ricardo and Jorge Luis are super smart, passionate and optimistic guys that give me huge hope for the future. I really recommend following Status Queer (Insta: @statusqueer.ec) and keeping up to date on the work they are doing because I think they are going to be instrumental in the progression of rights for our community in Ecuador.

    Happy listening!

  • Latinx Queer History with Museo Q - Bogota, Colombia.
    Dec 5 2023

Hey hey! We're back together once more and this week I am in conversation with Michael, a co-founder of Museo Q (Insta: @museoq); a 'travelling' museum of queer culture, history and philosophy. I met Michael in Bogota, the capital of Colombia, however, Museo Q has worked all over the country, plus internationally.

Michael invited me to an event he was moderating at a gorgeous queer bookstore in Bogota, before we headed to his house for a cup of tea and a chat about where the idea for Museo Q was born, what they have done so far, what they wish to do and more.

I had a great day meeting Michael. Plus, the team at Museo Q have been doing loads of exciting things since I met them. Long may their amazing work continue!
