Potter Revisited Episode #102 House Hunters International AKA Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Chapter 4 "Number 12, Grimmauld Place"

• Please forgive Tori's voice as she is getting over the flu
• We are back to discussing OOTP in 2026!
• We finally get our introduction to Grimmauld Place
• The way access to Grimmauld place is revealed to Harry seems similar to the magic of the Room of Requirement at Hogwarts
• Grimmauld Place definitely gives of some particular vibes which Shay discusses as if we are in an episode of House Hunters International
• Shay loves hallways and closed living
• Mrs Weasley seems stressed
• CAPS LOCK Harry makes an appearance
• Is Harry really angry at Ron and Hermione, or just taking out his anger on them?
• Ron and Hermione are good friends to allow Harry to take his anger out on them and not hold it against him
• The Twins can apparate now and have great instincts on defusing the tension Harry brings
• Ginny also appears and interacts quite normally with Harry for the first time
• We are looking forward to Ginny's transition from younger sister to an actual character
• Bill is a highly respected older sibling
• Fred spills the tea about Bill and Fleur
• Both Bill and Charlie have joined the order to help find and recruit members, but what about Percy?
• Percy had a catastrophic falling out with Mr Weasley and his family - has this been building for a while?
• We understand Percy was wrong about Dumbledore and Harry, however we sympathize with him on his family not respecting or valuing his interests/ambitions
• Does Percy's high ambition stem from his father not having more (according to Percy) and him viewing that as a character flaw?
• Does Percy have some jealousy on how Harry fits into his family compared to himself?
• Harry is being slandered in the press again
• Would Sirius actually allow Snape to stay for dinner?
• We are introduced to Sirius' mother in the form of a screaming lifesize portrait that cannot be removed. Terrible person, but we respect the level of pettiness.
• We are looking forward to the next few chapters set in Grimmauld place!

Potter Revisited Episode #101 Dumbledore, You Egotistical Nut AKA Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Chapter 3 "The Advanced Guard"

• This chapter is a lot more exposition and transitional than the previous two chapters that had lots of action and foreshadowing
• Shay does not approve of how rude Harry is to Hedwig
• Hedwig is the true MVP though
• Harry is really going through the symptoms of bad mental health right now
• Moody as Lupin ask Harry a question he would only know - we decide to ask each other the same
• The advanced guard has come to spring Harry free with some familiar faces - Lupin and Moody - and some new faces
• It interesting the way this real Mad Eye Moody is reintroduced to Harry and the readers - they don't really focus on it too much
• Lupin is back and we are so excited
• We are introduced to Nymphadora Tonks who we are also very excited about
• Tonk's rouse to lure the Dursley's away from the house was genius. We discuss other ways it could have been done
• Quite a large group came to pick Harry up - was that wise?
• It was smart to include Lupin in the guard as Harry actually knows and trusts Lupin, but was everyone else necessary? Although at this point, Harry probably would have left with anyone
• It is great having a mid-twenties character like Tonks in the mix, as most characters in the series so far are adults or children
• Tonks reveals to Harry she is a Metamorphmagus and can change her appearance at will - we wish more lore was included about this
• We love how nosy the team is, looking through Petunia's kitchen
• It is decided that the best course of transportation is flying to headquarters - does this really seem like the most logical route?
• Shay and Tori debate if using a broom should count as Harry using magic
• It doesn't seem too much thought went into this and it is just a plot device to get Harry to Number 12 Grimmauld Place
• They just land in the middle of a muggle courtyard in London and no one notices?
• Moody has Dumbledore's Deluminator - is this foreshadowing to this being important in DH?
• Dumbledore - as secret keeper - wrote down the location of headquarters - isn't that risky? All so he didn't need to see / be near Harry?
• Shay calls out Dumbledore for his ego
• The Dumbledore slander is only at the beginning

• It is revealed that Mrs Figg is actually a Squib who has been watching over Harry for Dumbledore
• What is the deal with Mrs Figgs cats? Can she communicate with them?
• Dudley is such a brat
• Squibs are so isolated from the Wizarding World
• Why did Dumbledore not want Harry to know Mrs Figg new about magic once he was older?
• Dudley really changes between OOTP and DH for how he treats Harry
• Why does the first letter Harry receives from the Ministry say he is expelled from school, they are coming to destroy his wand, but tells him to also come for a disciplinary meeting later
• Signing off "hope you are well" to such a terrible letter is savage
• The Ministry is showing to be corrupt, not allowing due process for Harry
• Were certain death eaters in the Ministry influencing trying to get Harry's wand destroyed for Voldemort?
• Interesting to compare Harry in PoA thinking he is being arrested and planning to run away, and now in OOTP probably would be arrested and planning to run away
• Sirius and Arthur Weasleys letters are mostly the same, but impose a different reaction from Harry
• Harry needs to hire a lawyer
• What did Dudley experience during the dementor attack?
• Petunia references "that awful boy" which is fun foreshadowing to Snape and Lily's friendship reveal in DH
• Should the Dursley's have been informed that Voldemort had returned?
• Harry and Petunia share an interesting moment when she becomes vulnerable about Voldemort's return
• Vernon wants to through Harry out, but Petunia receives a Howler
• What did Dumbledore write in his letter to Petunia? Was he blackmailing her?

• Tori found OOTP a bit hard to relate to at 11 years old but is looking forward to revisiting it as an adult
• This is the first book that doesn't overly recap Harry's experiences in the first chapter
• Is it a red flag that Dudley doesn't know who the prime minister is?
• Sassy Harry is still here and we are so thankful

• Harry being left to deal with the trauma from GOF with little support is hard to read but also more relatable as an adult
• Why is Hermione at Headquarters with Ron? Is there a reason besides making Harry more isolated and feeling alone?
• Dumbledore really set Harry up to fail in OOTP and we are not letting him off the hook
• Harry roasting Dudley is so deserved
• Quite exciting for a first chapter to have some action with the dementor attack

• We end with the reveal that Mrs Figg knows about dementors.... and potentially magic?

Potter Revisited Episode #97 The Wisdom of Harry AKA Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Chapter 37 "The Beginning"

• We are finally wrapping up GoF!
• Harry is now left to really process what has happened to him on his own
• Harry meets with the Diggory's - was this forced on him or did he ask to do this?
• Amos is a wreak - if he was in a better place maybe he would of made a bigger issues of Fudge trying to cover up what happened to his son
• Molly actually asks Dumbledore for Harry to come home with the Weasley's
• Harry had to go back with no support for him in place
• Hagrid is a big comfort and doesn't sugarcoat things for Harry
• Hagrid talks about is overwhelming faith in Dumbledore being the key to win the war - could this be foreshadowing Dumbledore's death in HBP
• This is the first book where the ending isn't fully resolved going into the next
• Ron finally asking Krum for his autograph - iconic
• Hermione reveals the truth about Rita Skeeter and what she has done... keeping her in a JAR
• Unhinged behaviour
• Malfoy tells Harry he backed the wrong side... but what other side could he be on since the other wants him dead?
• Everyone cursing Malfoy as he is boasting is what he deserves
• Should the school be concerned that known deatheater kids are at Hogwarts with Harry Potter?
• Fred and George also reveal the blackmail plot and how awful Ludo Bagman is
• Harry forcing the Twins to take his Triwizard earnings to start a joke shop is so moving and such a great moment - especially looking out for Ron and asking them to get him new dress robes
• This moment really shows Harry's wisdom and emotional growth
• The tone of this last chapter is interesting as everything is not completely resolved but their is still a feeling of hope going into OOTP
• We discuss our overall thoughts, favourite moments, final Snape Sucks count and characters that stuck out in this book
• Goblet of Fire movie review is coming soon, and then we will jump into OOTP!

Potter Revisited Episode #96 Gaslighting AKA Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Chapter 36 "The Parting of the Ways"

• We are now a Fudge Hate podcast
• After learning that Moody was actually Barty Crouch Jr and everything that happened to him, Harry still needs to sit with Dumbledore and tell him everything that happened
• Despite it all, Harry does ask about Cedric's parents
• Fawkes gives Harry the emotional support he needs, as well as Sirius
• Harry feels immediate comfort with Fawkes around - is this due to the wand or, or is this just what Phoenixes do?
• Fawkes is basically an emotional support animal at this point
• Could Dumbledore just have gotten Harry's memories of the events instead of making him relive it?
• Dumbledore keeps telling Harry he did beyond what was expected of him... but what was expected of him?
• Dumbledore's "gleam of triumph" What does it mean?
• We learn brother wands can't attack each other - what was Olivander doing making these wands in the first place?
• Sirius is visibly shocked and upset about the ghostly apparitions of James and Lily - is he reliving his own trauma from their deaths?
• Dumbledore does show Harry a lot of care in the aftermath, which is starkly different to how he treats Harry in OOTP
• Dumbledore: "What matters isn't what someone is born but what they grow to be" - very interesting quote in regards to the series
• Note: We do discuss the author's transphobic views in relation to this quote
• Mini G comes in yelling at Fudge - good for her
• Fudge came in and got rid of the "evidence" and then complains about the lack of evidence
• Fudge gaslights everyone SO hard
• Fudge shows the ugly side of his character with how he treats Harry and avoids responsibility to to see reason
• Why is Fudge coming to question the suspect rather than a trained professional like an Aurror?
• Fudge seems suspicious - the way he acted seems like he was in on a cover up
• Cedric's parents deserve answers in how he died
• Interesting when Harry names Lucius Malfoy as a Death Eater, Fudge brings up the fact that he is from an "old family" that donates a large amount of money, so he is obviously innocent - something we see a lot today
• Snape shows Fudge and everyone around his dark mark - is this pretty brave of him?
• Sirius reveals himself to everyone, and Snape realizes that Dumbledore has been gaslighting him for a year
• It feels naïve the way Dumbledore tries to have Sirius and Snape burry the hatchet - he expected too much as they have too much history
• Sirius and Snape leave to do their part of Dumbledore's master plan, and Mrs Weasley steps in to support Harry
• Harry describes the hug he gets being like from a mother - which has so much emotional ties with everything he has been through
• It is interesting how this chapter closes everything yet everything is not resolved and won't be going into OOTP - really a new beginning
• Last chapter and wrap up for GOF coming soon!

Potter Revisited Episode #95 Even More Daddy Issues AKA Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Chapter 35 "Veritaserum"

• Shay loves the latin ties Veritaserum has
• Harry has been through so much in the last few chapters - he is not the same person he was going into the maze
• Harry reappearing with Cedric is crazy
• Dumbledore is in a hard situation with needed to diffuse the situation with a dead student yet also need to get information from Harry
• Interesting that Moody taking Harry away is what clues Dumbledore in that he is an imposer
• Harry is being very vulnerable with fake Moody
• The reveal that (fake) Moody put Harry's name in the Goblet of Fire was shocking to Tori as a kid, when you think at the moment that Moody is a bad guy
• Moody says he put Harry under a fake school name - is that a poorly thought out plothole /loophole for this book?
• Moody didn't really help Harry as much as he implies - Harry did do all the tasks himself
• Harry's reliance on Ron and Hermione almost ruins fake Moody's plans - he assumes Harry would ask everyone for help
• Fake Moody attempts to kill Harry for Voldemort - what would of happened if he had tried since Harry is a Horcrux?
• Shay takes all about Barty Crouch Jrs Daddy Issues
• Having the Truth Potion used to reveal Crouch Jr's plans is a lot better than more monologues
• Could you use hair in a polyjuice potion for a person that is dead?
• Poor real Moody has been through it
• We discuss the Foe Glass that is in the office, how it works and Shay wonders if it hints at Snape's true loyalty
