Über diesen Titel

Music finds its way into every corner of our world. Whether it's sounds written to soothe our four-legged friends, or a loud, politically charged punk song, music can change the way we feel and often has larger implications than we imagine. In the latest Audible Original series, Pitch, you'll hear an incredible range of stories that illustrate why music is so central in our connections to each other, our history, and how we navigate the culture and the current moment.

When you add Pitch to your library you will receive all 9 episodes, each with a runtime of approximately 25 minutes. To hear more great podcasts and short listens, visit Audible.com/AudioShows.

Pitch’s Whitney Jones digs into 200 years of US cultural history to get at the roots of what is “OK” at concerts, what isn’t and who gets to decide that.

The program, called “Home,” became a refuge for Jackson’s underserved, low-income students. But as Pitch contributor Avi Wolfman-Arendt reports, "Home’s" very success could in fact drive the demise of the values that made "Home" so important to the kids who participate in it.

  • Ep. 7: Mother Tongue
    Jun 28 2018

Why would a musician make a pop album in a language spoken by fewer than a thousand people? Pitch contributor, Laura Snapes, revisits Cornwall, England with musician Gwenno as she contemplates her native languages, her identity and her new album.

This podcast is obviousely about music. Sadly I nevertheless was unable to detect a central theme. It also seemed as if it suddenly stopped. The chapters itself were partly good, partly not, depending what it was about.

Something about music...
