  • Martha, Lazarus, and a Kids’ Book That Changed How I Lead
    Jan 12 2026

Over the past few years I thought I was a relational person but the truth is I am naturally task-oriented. Being busy and efficient felt like loving people but I have learned that presence cannot be rushed. In this episode I share what Scripture and stories have taught me about slowing down and showing up for people: • Luke 10: Martha distracted by many tasks • John 11: Jesus slows down and weeps with Mary and Martha • A modern illustration from the children’s book Little Blue TruckI also reflect on the habits I am practicing to be more people-oriented and how being relational is something you learn not something you are born with.Whether you are a leader, a friend, or trying to grow in how you care for others this episode is for you.Reflection question: Where might slowing down be the most faithful thing you could do today?Listen to the full episode now and join me in learning to slow down.

  • Godliness Isn’t a Shortcut and How to Fight the Right Fight
    Jul 14 2025

I thought when I quit swimming and leaned fully into ministry, things would take off — spiritually, relationally, even on social media. But instead, God slowed me down. In this solo episode, I walk through what 1 Timothy 6 has taught me about contentment, comparison, pride, and control. I share how I wrestled with watching others grow in their spiritual gifts while I felt left behind — and how, right in the middle of that prayer, a worship leader shared a word from the stage: “Don’t birth an Ishmael when God has promised you an Isaac.” That moment reframed everything. I also talk about the burden I’ve been feeling lately for evangelism — and how that played out in a spontaneous conversation at Taco Bell. This episode is honest, Scripture-soaked, and for anyone who feels like obedience isn’t paying off yet. Maybe slow growth isn’t failure — maybe it’s formation. Also, it had so many issues filming and uploading, I pray it's spiritual warfare and not me stubbornly publishing something I shouldn’t have. I know the audio is not great, please push through for the message.#faith #genz #christian #bible #peopleoftheprocess

  • Testimonial Interview with Kaleb Phillips
    Apr 29 2025

Kaleb spends most of his time using basketball as a tool to glorify God. He goes to local parks and gyms, not just to play, but to build genuine relationships with youth. In those everyday spaces, he partners with the Holy Spirit to bring light into places that are often overlooked. His life is a testimony to the power of prayer, consistent faithfulness, and surrender to the work of the Kingdom.I tried a different angle for today’s video, and it didn’t turn out the way I hoped. But that is part of the process. We live and we learn. I do think the audio quality is better this time. I was recently gifted a Rode Wireless Micro by my mentor and subscriber, Matt Penny, who also generously allows me to use his recording space.#podcast #faith #basketball #prayer #outreach
