• EP29 – What Is Your Verdict Your Honor?
    Apr 27 2023

    Introduction:

Welcome to Christ Talk Canada, the podcast where we dive deep into the Word of God and discuss what it means to follow Jesus in our daily lives. I'm your host, Pastor Michael, and today we're going to be discussing a topic that is near and dear to my heart: What Is Your Verdict Your Honor? GUILTY!

It's easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life, focusing on our own desires and priorities instead of God's will for our lives. But as Christians, we are called to be different. We are called to be servants, putting the needs of others before our own and using our gifts and talents to further God's kingdom.

In this episode, we're going to explore what the Bible says about serving and giving an account as Christians. We'll look at examples from Scripture and discuss how we can apply these lessons to our own lives.

So, whether you're a seasoned Christian or just starting out on your faith journey, I encourage you to tune in and join the conversation. Let's dive into God's Word together and discover what it means to truly follow Jesus.

    Podcast Message:

Have you ever considered what your verdict would be if you were on trial? What would be the evidence presented against you, and what kind of defense would you offer? These questions may seem daunting, but the truth is, as Christians, we are already on trial. We are constantly being evaluated by the world around us, and by God Himself.

In the book of Romans, chapter 8, verse 1, it says: "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit." This verse reminds us that if we are in Christ, we are not condemned. However, it also implies that if we are not in Christ, we are under condemnation.

So the question we must ask ourselves is this: are we walking according to the flesh, or according to the Spirit? Are we living for ourselves, or for God? Are we living a life that reflects the love and grace of Jesus Christ, or are we living a life that is characterized by selfishness and sin?

We know that we will all stand before the judgment seat of Christ one day, and give an account for our lives. In 2 Corinthians chapter 5, verse 10, it says: "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad."

So my brothers and sisters, let us take stock of our lives and consider our verdict. Let us live our lives in a way that is pleasing to God, seeking to honor Him in all that we do. And let us remember that we do not have to face this trial alone. We have an advocate in Jesus Christ, who intercedes for us before the Father.

As we consider our verdict, we must also remember that it is not based on our own efforts or good deeds. In Ephesians chapter 2, verses 8 and 9, it says: "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast."

Our salvation is a gift from God, given to us through faith in Jesus Christ. It is not something we can earn or deserve. But even though we are saved by grace, we are still called to live a life that reflects the love and mercy of God.

In Matthew chapter 5, verse 16, it says: "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven." As Christians, we are called to be salt and light in this world, to show others the love and grace of God through our actions and our words.

So let us live our lives in a way that reflects the goodness of God, and let us share His love with those around us. Let us be known as people who love God and love others, and who are faithful to His call on our lives.

  • EP28 - Who Called You To Ministry
    Apr 25 2023

    Introduction:

Welcome to Christ Talk Canada, I’m your host Pastor Michael. As most of you know this podcast is meant to teach believers how to have an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. We dive deeply into Christian Topics of the Bible and how they relate to our daily lives. Today, we are discussing the important question of who called you to ministry. This is a question that every Christian who is involved in ministry must ask themselves, and it is one that we will be exploring through the lens of the Bible.

    Message:

First, let's look at the importance of this question. The calling to ministry is not something that should be taken lightly. It is a serious responsibility that requires dedication, commitment, and a deep love for God and His people. Without a clear understanding of who called us to ministry, we risk losing sight of our purpose and becoming ineffective in our service to God.

So, who does the Bible say called us to ministry? Let's start by looking at 1 Corinthians 1:1-3:

"Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother, To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all who in every place call on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ."

  • EP27 - False Prophets
    Apr 22 2023

    Introduction:

Good day, and welcome to today's discussion on "False Prophets." False prophets are a topic that has been present since the early days of Christianity. The Bible warns against false prophets, describing them as wolves in sheep's clothing. Today, we will explore what the Bible has to say about false prophets and how we can identify them.

    Podcast Message:

Definition of False Prophets: A false prophet is someone who claims to speak for God but does not speak according to His Word. The Bible warns us repeatedly about false prophets and their dangerous teachings. Jesus Himself warned us in Matthew 7:15-16: "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits."

Examples of False Prophets in the Bible: Throughout the Bible, we see numerous examples of false prophets. In the Old Testament, we see the likes of Balaam and Hananiah, who prophesied falsely and led people astray. In the New Testament, we see the Pharisees and Sadducees, who claimed to be religious leaders but were hypocrites and opposed Jesus' teachings.

Characteristics of False Prophets: False prophets are not always easy to identify, but the Bible gives us some characteristics to look out for. They often claim to have a special revelation from God, perform signs and wonders, and lead people away from the truth of God's Word. False prophets are often motivated by personal gain, money, and fame.

Why it's Important to Identify False Prophets: Identifying false prophets is crucial because their teachings can lead people astray and away from the truth of God's Word. False teachings can be dangerous, causing people to believe in a false gospel and leading them away from salvation. The Bible warns us that false prophets will increase in number as we approach the end times

As Christians, we are called to discern the truth from falsehood, especially in matters of faith. False prophets have been a problem in every era, and it is crucial that we understand how to identify them and protect ourselves from their deceptions. Today, we will explore what the Bible has to say about false prophets and how we can apply these teachings in our lives.

  • EP25 - Recognizing God's Voice
    Apr 20 2023

Intro/Outro Song - Abba by Eddie James (feat. Zeal & Jesse Cline)

    Introduction:

Hello and welcome to Christ Talk Canada. I am your host, Pastor Michael, and in today's episode, we will be exploring the topic of "Can You Recognize His Voice?" As Christians, it is crucial to be able to differentiate God's voice from the many other voices that we come across in our daily lives. We will discuss the various ways to hear God's voice, developing discernment, saturating ourselves in the Word, being obedient to His voice, and having faith in Him even in the face of difficulties. So, let us dive into this insightful conversation.

    Write Up About Message:

Part 1: How to Hear His Voice

In John 10:27, Jesus declares, "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me." This scripture affirms that as believers, we have the ability to hear the voice of God. But how do we cultivate this ability? The first step is to establish a close relationship with God through prayer, reading the Bible, and worship. As we draw nearer to Him, we become more familiar with His voice and are better able to recognize it.

As Christians, we believe that God speaks to us in various ways, including through prayer, the Bible, and the Holy Spirit. However, it's essential to note that hearing God's voice isn't always a loud, audible experience. At times, it can be a gentle whisper or a subtle nudge in a specific direction. That is why nurturing a deep and intimate relationship with God is crucial in discerning His voice.

Prayer is a powerful way to foster this relationship. By communicating with God, we can pour out our hearts to Him, seek His guidance and will, and request His help and provision. When we devote time to prayer, we open ourselves up to hear God's voice. As we become more attuned to His voice, we can recognize when He is speaking to us.

Another way to hear God's voice is by studying and meditating on the Bible. The Bible is God's word to us, and as we read and reflect on it, we become more familiar with His character, His will, and His voice. The more we immerse ourselves in the truth of God's word, the better equipped we are to recognize when He is speaking to us and to discern His direction for our lives.

Additionally, spending time in worship is a powerful way to hear God's voice. Worship involves more than singing songs or playing music; it's a posture of the heart that acknowledges God's greatness, holiness, and love. When we worship, we position ourselves to hear from God, and as we focus on Him, we become more attuned to His voice.

To hear God's voice, it's also crucial to quiet our minds and hearts to listen to Him. In our fast-paced world, it's easy to get distracted and overwhelmed with daily demands. However, intentionally setting aside time to be alone with God and free from distractions is essential to recognize His voice.

Practicing solitude and silence is a way to achieve this. This involves intentionally taking time to be alone with God, devoid of distractions and interruptions. During this time, we can focus on listening to God's voice and asking Him to speak to us. It can be a time of prayer, meditation, or simply sitting quietly in His presence.

  • EP24 - God's Love Toward Us
    Apr 18 2023

Intro/Outro Song - God Really Love's Us By Crowder Ft. Dante Bowe

    Introduction:

Welcome to Christ Talk Canada, I am your host, Pastor Michael. Christ Talk Canada is a podcast where we explore the truths of the Christian faith and how they apply to our everyday lives., and today we are on Episode 24, where we will be diving into the topic of God's Love Towards Us.

As Christians, we know that God's love is foundational to our faith. It is through His love that we are saved, transformed, and renewed. But have you ever stopped to truly reflect on why God loves us so much? And why it's important for us to seek to know His love for ourselves personally?

In this episode, we will be examining the reasons why God loves us, the depths of His love, and how it can transform our lives. So, join us as we dive into the subject of God's love towards us. May this episode inspire you to seek a deeper understanding of God's love and how it can transform your life.

    Body of Message:

The Bible tells us in 1 John 4:8 that God is love. This means that love is not just something that God does, but it is who He is. God's love is so immense that it is difficult for our finite minds to fully comprehend it. However, we can catch glimpses of it in the way that He interacts with us and through His Word.

One of the most well-known verses in the Bible is John 3:16 which states, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." This verse shows us the depth of God's love for us. He loved us so much that He was willing to send His Son to die for us so that we could have eternal life.

But why does God love us so much? The Bible tells us that it is not because of anything that we have done or could do to earn His love, but simply because of who He is. In Ephesians 2:4-5, it says, "But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved)."

God's love is not dependent on our actions or our worthiness, but it is a free gift that He offers to all who would receive it. This is why it is so important for us to seek to know God's love for ourselves personally. When we experience God's love in a personal way, it transforms us and changes us from the inside out. It gives us a sense of purpose and a reason for living.

In 1 John 4:19, it says, "We love Him because He first loved us." When we begin to understand the depth of God's love for us, it ignites a love for Him in our own hearts. We are then able to love others with the same kind of love that God has shown us. So, let us seek to know God's love for ourselves personally. Let us take the time to meditate on His Word and to experience His love in our own lives. As we do, we will be transformed by His love, and we will be able to share it with others.

In Romans 5:8, it says, "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." This verse shows us that God's love is not based on our performance or our goodness, but rather it is based on His own character. God's love is unconditional, and it is available to us at all times. When we come to know God's love for ourselves personally, it changes the way we see ourselves and the way we see others. We begin to see ourselves as loved and valued by God, and we begin to see others in the same way. We are able to extend grace and forgiveness to others because we have experienced it ourselves.

  • EP23 - Presence of God
    Apr 17 2023

Intro/Outro Song: In Your Presence By Jason Upton

Introduction: Welcome to Christ Talk Canada, I’m your host Pastor Michael. We are now on Episode 23. As Christians, we believe that God is not just some distant, uninvolved deity, but rather a loving Father who desires to be in relationship with us. Throughout the Bible, we see countless examples of God's presence manifesting in the lives of His people, from the burning bush that Moses encountered in the wilderness, to the Holy Spirit descending on the disciples at Pentecost. today we'll be talking about a topic that is close to the heart of every Christian: the presence of God.

Message: As Christians, we believe that God is present everywhere, and His presence is essential in our lives. The Bible teaches us that God's presence brings comfort, strength, and guidance. We need to seek His presence daily because it brings us to a deeper intimate relationship with Him.

The Bible tells us that God's presence was evident from the beginning of creation. In Genesis 1:2, it says, "The earth was without form, and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters." This passage shows us that God was present during the creation of the world. The Holy Spirit moved upon the waters, and the earth was formed.

In the Old Testament, we see how God's presence was tangible among His people. In Exodus 33:14, God said to Moses, "My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest." God's presence brought comfort and rest to Moses, who was leading the Israelites out of Egypt. In 2 Chronicles 7:14, God tells His people, "If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land." God's presence brings healing and forgiveness.

In the New Testament, we see how Jesus emphasized the importance of seeking God's presence. In John 15:5, Jesus says, "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing." We need to abide in Jesus to bear fruit and fulfill our purpose in life.

In Matthew 6:33, Jesus tells us to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." Seeking God's presence should be our top priority, and everything else will fall into place. Being in the presence of God brings us to a deeper intimate relationship with Him. Psalm 16:11 says, "You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore." When we seek God's presence, we experience joy and pleasure that can only come from Him. We also grow in our knowledge of God, His character, and His will for our lives.

We should desire God's presence daily because it sustains us and gives us strength. Psalm 46:1 says, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." When we face challenges and difficulties, God's presence gives us the strength and courage to overcome them. In Psalm 73:28, the psalmist says, "But it is good for me to draw near to God; I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all Your works." Seeking God's presence helps us to trust in Him and declare His works to others.

When we seek God's presence, we also experience His love and grace. Romans 5:8 tells us, "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." God's presence reminds us of His unconditional love for us, even when we fall short. In His presence, we can confess our sins and receive His forgiveness.

  • EP22 - Faith Vs Religion
    Apr 16 2023

Intro/Outro Song: Perfectly Loved - Rachael Lampa feat. TobyMac

    Introduction:

Hello and welcome to Christ Talk Canada’s 22nd episode. I am your Host Pastor Michael and today's podcast is focused on a very important topic where we will be discussing Faith vs Religion and why Faith always wins. As a Christian, I know that this is a topic that often comes up in conversations and debates, and I'm excited to share with you what the Bible says about it. So, let's dive into prayer to open up the topic.

Faith Vs. Religion: Understanding the Difference

Faith and religion are two concepts that are often used interchangeably. However, they are not the same thing. Faith refers to a personal belief in something or someone, while religion refers to a set of beliefs, practices, and traditions that are shared by a group of people. In this essay, we will explore the difference between faith and religion and why having a personal and intimate relationship with God is what God wants us to do.

    Faith: A Personal Belief

Faith is a personal belief in something or someone. In the Bible, faith is defined as "the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1, NKJV). This means that faith is believing in something even though we cannot see it or touch it. Faith is a personal conviction that is rooted in our heart, and it is not dependent on external factors.

Religion: A Set of Beliefs and Practices

Religion, on the other hand, refers to a set of beliefs, practices, and traditions that are shared by a group of people. Religion is a way of life that is governed by rules and regulations. In the Bible, religion is often associated with the law, which was given to the Israelites to guide their conduct (Galatians 3:24-25, NKJV). Religion can be a powerful force for good, but it can also be a source of conflict and division.

    Biblical Evidence: Faith vs. Religion

The Bible makes it clear that having faith is more important than following religious rituals. Jesus criticized the religious leaders of his time for their outward show of piety while neglecting the weightier matters of the law, such as justice, mercy, and faith (Matthew 23:23, NKJV). In the book of James, we read that faith without works is dead (James 2:17, NKJV). This means that true faith is demonstrated by our actions, not just by our words.

Jesus himself taught that having a personal and intimate relationship with God is what God wants us to do. In John 17:3, Jesus prays, "And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent" (NKJV). Knowing God is not just about knowing about Him, it's about having a personal relationship with Him.

In the book of Hebrews, we read that faith is what pleases God (Hebrews 11:6, NKJV). It is not our religious rituals or good works that please God, but our faith in Him. And this faith is not something that we can manufacture on our own; it is a gift from God (Ephesians 2:8-9, NKJV). When we place our faith in God, we are saved by His grace and not by our own efforts.

Once again thank you to all my listeners and followers for your love and support throughout this journey. If you would like to reach me you can do so on the website https://christtalk.ca or by email info@christtalk.ca

May the Lord Jesus Christ Bless you always, and may you forever walk in the Spirit of God.
