"I have reached six of the seven podcasts. So now of course I must reach the seventh." - A February deep Freeze is in store as Dave takes 2015's Everest off the shelf this week. Phil knew nothing about the movie beyond the title and was pleasantly surprised at how effective the film is at showing the tragedy of the expedition of 1996. Dave had never seen it either but felt the intense weather conditions was well delivered by the film maker. Phil managed to dig deeper into the story and watched a few other movies about the same subject matter. Both hosts agree that this is better than they thought it would be.

"And we're walking, and we're walking, and we're podcasting" - Back to the White House as Phil takes 1993's Dave off the shelf this week. David relives his pain that Dave gave upon it's release in `93 but works through it and finds the movie and performances to be entertaining. Phil finds the movie to be more of a Frank Capra style comedy and finds the general vibe to be that of a sweet romantic comedy. A movie that both hosts agree that if you don't buy the premise the whole thing falls apart, luckily it keeps it light enough to not worry too much about that.

"That's not a Podcast; That's a Podcast" - Dave is really milking his trip to Australia as he takes 1986's Crocodile Dundee off the shelf this week. Phil remembers the cultural phenomenon that was this movie and its star while confirming that his co-star may be the worst actor he's ever seen. Dave enjoys the overall tone of the movie and buys into the romance that is being presented and find it mostly delivers on its premise and tone. Both are ready to leave the outback by the end of it.

"I'm A podcast, not THE podcast" - Phil celebrates his namesake in Punxsutawney and takes 1993's Groundhog Day off the shelf this week. He fondly remembers the movie from the opening minutes and shares a story of the music that inspired a very strange 48 hour period in his life. Dave also remembers the movie as it was frequently on cable over the years and certain moments have sustained. What neither of them fully remember is just hot much emotion is involved in this movie and how many interesting ideas are present in this seemingly light hearted romantic comedy..

"The maximum Podcast of the Future" - We stay down under as Dave takes 1979's Mad Max off the shelf this week. Dave had unsure feelings when watching it a year ago finally and Phil only knows Tina Turner's vocals from Thunderdome. This film doesn't have the energy or adrenaline rush of Fury Road so many years later but despite the underwhelming intro of the saga, road warrior is still on the table..

"You podcast the podcasts that need podcasting" - Phil celebrates the career of Rob Reiner as he takes 1995's The American President Off the Shelf this week. Dave claims this could be Phil's best movie to date and was emotionally moved from the writing and performances. Phil watched it prior to the horrendous news of Reiner's death and once after and it only appreciated in emotional value. A great script, great performances and great direction made it a nice safe space to be despite the news of the world. An added bonus is how much it reflects The West Wing.

What beats Lava? My Podcast...I hope" - Dave starts the year off with a toast as he takes 1997's Volcano Off the Shelf this week. Surprisingly, Phil doesn't hate it and for the most enjoys the action sequences despite some questionable effects here and there but overall appreciates the disaster genre of the late 90's. Dave isn't that convinced it's a good movie but is always happy to watch Tommy Lee Jones take charge and get it done.
