  • Washington Coalition for Police Accountability
    Jan 5 2026

On this episode of the Mothers Justice Radio Show, guest host Chukundi Salisbury sits down with members of the Washington Coalition for Police Accountability for a powerful, unfiltered conversation about police violence, accountability, and the urgent need for systemic reform.

The discussion centers on the killing of L.J. Causey, Jr.—a father of three—and exposes the stark gap between police de-escalation policies and real-world practice. Coalition leaders Elaine Simons and Sonia Joseph share deeply personal perspectives shaped by the loss of their own sons, while outlining concrete legislative priorities for the 2026 session, including independent prosecutors, Attorney General investigations, stronger standards for law-enforcement leadership, and limits on police tactics that erode public trust.

This episode is both a tribute to lives lost and a call to action—highlighting how impacted families are leading statewide efforts to change policy, demand transparency, and protect future generations. If you care about justice, public safety, and accountability in Washington State, this is a conversation you need to hear in full.
