What if the very reason you are where you are…
is because you were sent there?

In today's Morning Light, Mike Franklin explores the powerful biblical concept of "sent-ness" — the reality that every follower of Christ has been intentionally placed in this world to love, serve, and reach others.

    Drawing from:

    • John 17:14–18 – Jesus' prayer: "As You sent Me… I have sent them"

In a world full of opinions, traditions, soundbites, and social media theology, how do we know what's actually true?

Just like scientists can produce real diamonds in a lab, truth can sometimes look authentic on the surface. But there is a difference between what's manufactured quickly and what has stood the test of time.

    Drawing from:

    • John 8:31–32

    • 2 Timothy 2:15

    • 2 Timothy 4:3–4

    • Matthew 7

    This episode explores:

    • Why partial truth can be dangerous

    • The danger of "itching ears" theology

    • How false confidence can lead to spiritual confusion

    • Why eternity depends on knowing sound doctrine

    • How truth brings real freedom

    Episode Notes:

In this episode of Scripture Unlocked, Mike Franklin continues unpacking the powerful biblical principle of stewardship from Matthew 25.

If God owns everything—and Scripture makes it clear that He does—then what does that make us?

    Managers.

In the Parable of the Talents, Jesus reveals how the Kingdom of Heaven operates. A master entrusts his servants with extraordinary resources and later returns to settle accounts. Two servants are commended. One is rebuked. The difference? Faithful stewardship.

    This message explores:

    • Why ownership is a spiritual illusion

    • The five areas God entrusts to every believer: time, talent, treasure, testimony, and temple

    • The reality of future accountability before Christ

    • The eternal impact of how we manage what belongs to God

    • Why stewardship is about far more than money

Salvation is free—but stewardship is a responsibility.

Every believer will one day stand before the King to give an account. The question is not whether we believed in God—but whether we faithfully managed what He placed in our hands.

"Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."

The accounting is coming. Are we managing well?

    Episode Notes:

Have you ever felt completely overwhelmed?

Not just physically tired - but emotionally, spiritually, and mentally drained? Like everything in your life is being shaken at once?

In this episode of Morning Light, Mike Franklin addresses what psychologists call chronic inner fatigue—that deep exhaustion that builds over months of pressure, overcommitment, grief, and relentless responsibility.

Drawing from Mark 6, when John the Baptist was beheaded and the disciples were worn down from ministry, Jesus gave a simple but powerful instruction:

"Come aside by yourselves… and rest a while."

When life feels like a salt shaker turned upside down, when you can't relax, can't sleep, can't stop checking messages, and feel like you must keep up at all costs—Jesus offers another way.

    This episode explores:

    • The difference between physical tired and soul fatigue

    • The warning signs of burnout

    • How overactivity can poison your spirit

    • Why rest is not weakness—but obedience

    • The healing power of stepping away with God

If you're in danger of burning out… if you're endangering your health, your family, or your relationship with God because you "can't slow down"… this message is for you.

Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is come aside and rest.

Have you ever felt emotionally numb?

Like you're just going through the motions… forcing your way through the day… overwhelmed by circumstances that seem bigger than you?

In this episode of Morning Light, Mike Franklin speaks directly to those moments when you feel drained, dismayed, and emotionally spent. When expectations are heavy. When you don't even know what you're feeling anymore. When you just want the circumstance to change.

Drawing from Isaiah 30:15, Mike reminds us of God's clear prescription:

"In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and confidence shall be your strength."

Instead of overscheduling, overperforming, dropping boundaries, or trying to force solutions, God invites us to:

    • Return to Him

    • Rest in Him

    • Trust Him in quiet confidence

This message addresses the common but dangerous patterns of burnout—poor time management, toxic relationships, unresolved grief, unrealistic expectations—and points us back to the only lasting source of peace.

You'll also hear the promise of Isaiah 26:3:

"You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You."

If you feel overwhelmed, numb, or emotionally exhausted, this episode is a reminder that you are not alone—and that strength is found not in pushing harder, but in returning to Christ.

Grace, peace, and renewed strength are still available.

    Episode Notes:

How well are you really doing at loving people?

In this episode of Morning Light, Mike Franklin challenges us to take an honest look at what genuine, Christlike love actually requires and what it doesn't. Jesus commanded us to love God and love others, but many of us struggle to truly notice people, sacrifice for them, and engage their needs instead of hiding behind busy schedules, routines, or "good programs."

Mike points out something powerful: Jesus loved deeply, but He didn't try to meet every need. He knew when to step in and when to step away, and that wisdom came from time spent with the Father in prayer. The lesson is clear: if we want to love like Jesus, we have to let God lead us to the people and needs He's assigning to us.

You'll also hear a challenging truth: we're called to love people even when we don't like them. Ministry isn't only preaching or leading, it's loving individuals where they are, personally, with compassion and discernment.

✅ Four Practical Steps to Love Like Jesus
    1. Create margin so you're not too packed to care

    2. Choose to love because love is a decision, not a mood

    3. Choose to be personable with kindness and attention

    4. Prioritize well so you don't neglect your family and health while trying to meet every need

This message is both a correction and an encouragement: God will send people to you, and He will show you who they are when you seek Him in prayer.

May God help us love better, more effectively, and more like Christ.
