Über diesen Titel

For years Doug Cochrane and Justin Strandlund have been good friends and frequent improv partners. They share a love of debating any topic, although their discussions usually come back around to two things: movies and space. Their most infamous debate involved a 2 hour discussion (while at work) about the actual possibility of time travel and it's potential ramifications on mankind; this included a full diagram drawn on a wall-sized whiteboard. Time well spent. MindGap is what happens when they sit in front of a microphone and press record. Sozialwissenschaften
  • Episode 494 - If You Were the Villain, How Would You Win?
    Jun 6 2025

It’s time for another Mind Gap Podcast! This week, Doug and Justin talk about, potentially for the second time, what they’d do if they were invisible for 24 hours. Did they land on the same antics as the first time they discussed this? Obviously they have no idea, but if you remember please let them know! The guys then move on to their main topic: If you were the villain in different universes, how would you win? Our nerds give their takes on what villains such as Emperor Palpatine, Sauron, Syndrome, and Lord Voldemort could have done better. Then, with the roll of a die, they choose a fictional universe at random and lay out their grand plan for how to dominate it. The journey is brought to a close with our dorks sharing a few villainous submissions received on Discord from the incredible Mind Gap community.

Things are wrapped up with another round of the movie clip guessing game, where Doug plays clips from different movies and Justin does his best to guess which films they’re from.

  • Episode 493 - The Ultimate Crossover: Which Universes Should Collide?
    May 30 2025

It’s time for another Mind Gap Podcast! This week, Doug and Justin share some of their weirdest dreams. Fair warning…it gets weird and they likely should seek professional help. Justin then tells Doug about the pure madness that are melatonin-induced dreams and Doug shudders to think about where his already bonkers dreams would go if he took the sleep aid. The dorks move into their main topic of the episode - ultimate universe crossovers. They ponder what it would look like if Avatar: The Last Airbender crossed with My Hero Academia, if Breaking Bad crossed into The Boys, or if the Marvel Cinematic Universe found its way into the Lord of the Rings reality.

Things are wrapped up with another round of the movie clip guessing game, where Doug plays clips from different movies and Justin does his best to guess which films they’re from.

  • Episode 492 - Ranking the Best Magic Systems in Fantasy
    May 23 2025

It’s time for another Mind Gap Podcast! This week, Doug and special guest Noah Reno chat about who their favorite heroes and villains are and which one would win in a fight. The dorks then shift into the main topic of discussing which fantasy world has the best system of magic. The guys talk about Allomancy from Mistborn, bending from Avatar: The Last Airbender, alchemy from Harry Potter, and more. Next, they take a look at some overrated magical systems that were pretty inconsistent (looking at you, Harry Potter), hear what the fans think of their favorite magical systems, and Noah makes a pitch for his very own unique magical system!

Things are wrapped up with a special game of Fact or Bullshit featuring Dragon Ball Z and Sonic the Hedgehog.
