Beyond delving into the story of Piet’s artwork, which is over two decades deep, we wanted to shine a light on the years before that, which he dedicated exclusively to skateboarding. The latest addition to our Listen In series is the perfect follow-up to our Mike Carroll episode. We connected with Jacob Rosenberg for a “Visuals” interview, exploring his formative years in the early nineties via some inspiration that wasn’t necessarily the action in front of his own lens. We were drawn to this specific time period thanks to Jacob’s new book “Epicenter,” which focuses on the time he spent at Embarcadero, an experience that stemmed from capturing Mike Carroll for the first two Plan B videos. Jacob’s contributions to skateboarding helped shape its evolution, and we’re pleased to be able to share this conversation with you.

Step behind the scenes of our blog editorial with the latest addition to our Listen In audio series. When Mike Carroll stopped by the shop last summer, we connected at the meet-and-greet event and arranged to speak before the end of the year. We landed on a “First & Last” interview format, and used this structure to explore his many decades in the game: his storied past beginning in the early days of San Francisco visitation and Embarcadero localisation through to his busy present, where he is just as dedicated to contributing to and supporting our culture.
