Issei Sagawa, who went by the aliases Pang or The Kobe Cannibal, gained notoriety as a Japanese killer, cannibal, and necrophiliac due to his heinous actions in 1981. In Paris, he brutally murdered Renée Hartevelt and proceeded to engage in the gruesome acts of mutilation, cannibalism, and necrophilia on her lifeless body over an extended period of time. The most confusing part is how much popularity and fame he gained from his heinous crimes. He went on to publish 20 books and even acted in adult films.
