This candid conversation is full of hot takes and big laughs as Marie and I discuss her journey from a child of the arts to a student at Parsons to becoming a renowned bridal designer, and everything in between. Marie gives us a peek into her process of custom-designing each gown to suit the unique aesthetic of each of her brides. She also takes us through the history of bridalwear, shares her deep reverence for art, fashion, and shoes, and reveals the unexpected reason she chose to go to grad school at NC State’s College of Design over all the rest.
A warning to anyone who may be sensitive to this– Marie also opens up about being in Manhattan on 9/11 and witnessing the profound devastation that occurred.
