On Roll Call this week Greta and Scott acknowledge the passing and legacy of Rob Hirst, one of the great drummers, showmen and lyricists of our time as well as a decent vocalist. Hirst was releasing music just 2 months before his death featuring his daughters Gabrielle and Lex and we hear one of those tracks early in today's show which opens with a couple of classic Midnight Oil songs. Elsewhere, music from RINSE, Tami Neilson, Ride, The Harbour Union, The Waratahs, Hachiku, Dan Sultan, Cosmic Psychos, Tom Busby, Sharon Van Etten and Sarah Blasko.

  • Episode 1120: Everyone Deserves Music with Scott - 18 January 2026
    Jan 18 2026

That creative genius of our time - David Lynch - departed this existence one year ago. What a legacy! We bookend this show with the amazing Rebekah Del Rio plus there's also an original 1961 Linda Scott song from the Mulholland Drive soundtrack. And a classic from Sharon Van etten from Twin Peaks The Return. Part 2 of my interview with Wilding's Justin Stokes. To set the scene either side we hear from XTC, Ian Dury and the little known Martin Newell (Justin's choice). Elsewhere we have 2025 tunes from Stereolab, Goose, Geese (yes really), Mei Semones, The Northern Folk, Peel Dream Magazine, Tunde Adebimpe, Mogwai and Brooklyn's Margaret Glaspy. We love Glaspy's work here so much that we threw in a track from her 2016 album 'Emotions and Math' as well as one from 2023's 'Echo The Diamond'.

We're continuing our look back at 2025's best music with a few twists. Among the tunes chosen are

  • Episode 1121: Bullfrog's Roadhouse _16_01_2026_- Duration: 02:03:25
    Jan 16 2026

    Ahoy Froggers,
In the 1970's Buddy Guy only released one album and that was not until the late 70's. Originally release as the Blues Giant the name was changed to what we now know it as Stone Crazy. Muddy is here with the help from Paul Butterfield and MIchael Bloomfield. Fleetwood Mac were touring the USA and stop by to record with Otis Spann as a relationship had been built from a previous recording they had worked on. Canned Heat are here with some help from Dave Alvin, we got the Classical trained violinist Papa John Creach on hand, and after all that there is still more to get through here on this edition of BFRH, so come on in and get yourselves a good ole helping of blues tuneage.

    Thanks for your support
