February 26, 2026: Michigan State with the huge upset win at Mackey - their first since 2014 - 76-74. It was a few missed shots - finally by Purdue, and some defensive rebounding which sealed the game despite a missed front end to a one and one by Ward gave Purdue some life with only 3.5 seconds left.

But Carson Cooper, Jeremy Fears, and the whole crew were just too much for Purdue despite the Boilers shooting 48% from 3 on relatively high volume. But it was sort of MSU’s offense that carried in this game and a few timely stops that was just enough. We will go thru the keys to the game in a little bit but let’s just start by saying that not only was this a huge win for the Green and white and the standings in the Big Ten and seeding for the NCAA tournament, but it had to be huge for their psyche going forward into the postseason and a revenge matchup with Michigan to end the regular season.

MSU now moves to 13-4 in the Big Ten and 23-5 overall and into the 3 seed for the BTT and a triple bye. Purdue drops back a game from there.
