Über diesen Titel
On today’s show, we are going to review one of the most important books I’ve ever read: "The Anxious Generation: How the Great Rewiring of Childhood is Causing an Epidemic of Mental Illness" by Jonathan Haidt.
We recognize that as a teacher, coach, or parent, it can be difficult to work with kids—especially today—and it can be even more difficult BEING one of these kids. We’ve got two massive problems: 1. Overprotective parenting, and 2. Technology that has fractured our attention and fundamentally altered how we connect—with our kids, with each other, and even with ourselves.
In "The Anxious Generation," Jonathan Haidt does a masterful job of sharing the evidence and truth, and while not blaming any one of us, he rallies us to protect our teenagers. Haidt reminds us of what we already know, “... whatever we tolerate today, our children will inherit the consequences.” I can see that we are looking down the barrel of a weapon, and it’s locked and loaded, and pointed at all of our children. Today’s show isn’t about blame, it’s about clarity and leadership. The numbers are in, and we’re going to look at them.
