In our very first episode of Because I Said So (Now Google It), we start with the phrase every kid has heard — and every parent has said(Maybe) : “because I said so.”
We talk about what that phrase actually means in our household, how often it shows up, what those words mean to Gen Alpha and whether it’s something my son thinks he’d ever say to his own kids someday. From there, the conversation naturally drifts into generational differences, shared laughs about how Millennials and Gen Alpha see each other, and even a quick moment on the now-everywhere number 67 (yes, that one).
This episode sets the tone for the show: honest, curious, a little funny, and rooted in real conversation. No lectures. No perfect answers. Just a mom and her kid talking through how authority, curiosity, and understanding show up at home — and how those ideas might look different as generations change.
