Good evening. Florida. I'm Aaron Jolly. Folks, here's the situation. We're looking at a tale of two Floridas today. Up north, you're dealing with a dense fog advisory until 8 A.M. Visibility could drop to a quarter mile near Jacksonville and the Georgia border. If you're driving that way, slow down and use your low beams. Meanwhile, down in Miami-Dade and Broward County, the Atlantic is angry. A high rip current risk stays in place through Wednesday evening. The surf is rough, so stay out of the water. In the next 24 hours. High pressure is building across the Southeast. This pumps in a warm, breezy easterly flow. It feels like summer is arriving early. We're flirting with record-breaking heat by Thursday. Here's what you're seeing across the state. In North Florida, the fog burns off to reveal a high of 76 degrees. Temperatures actually fall in the afternoon as winds shift. Tonight, widespread fog develops after 9 P.M. You'll drop to a mild 57 degrees. Central Florida stays mostly sunny. The Orlando area hits 80 degrees. You might see brief rain showers around 1 P.M. Winds shift from the northeast to the east. Tonight clears out with a low around 62 degrees. Down in South Florida, you see partly cloudy skies. An east wind blows around 14 miles an hour. Highs reach 78 degrees. There's a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 7 P.M. Tonight holds steady near 73 degrees. Over in Tampa Bay, you're winning the sunshine game. Mostly sunny skies with a high near 84 degrees. East winds around 8 miles an hour keep the coast comfortable. Tonight lows drop to 62 degrees under clear skies. Here's your heads-up for the week ahead. The warm-up is just getting started. We're looking at record highs Thursday through the weekend. Inland areas could hit the upper 80s. Expect a chance of showers each day along the coast. Nights remain mild and muggy. It's not officially summer yet, but the weather sure will feel like it. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
