Heavenly Calling - Not an earthly calling. Israel as a nation had an earthly calling but ended in failure. This earthly calling had earthly land possessions, earthly blessing, promises, material temple, city and sacrifices, worship and religion. It was a call that came from heaven, but a vocation or destiny on earth. But the Church has a call that comes from heaven to earth, to take a heavenly people from the earth to heaven.

All that pertains to the Church is of heavenly origin and vocation. It is not of earth nor on earth. The ultimate purpose is to lead us to heavenly things. The Church is a redeemed people, redeemed out of the earth, to fulfill God's purpose in earth, then to be taken ultimately to a new heavens and a new earth (Rev.21:1-2). All is "heavenly."
