While there are many high-quality study tools available, it is best to start with the source: the Bible. Before moving on to other books, always spend time in the Bible, seeing what the Bible itself has to say about the subject at hand. This helps to guard against bias of non-Biblical sources, and emphasizes the text itself, rather than what someone else has said about the text.

Much can be gleaned from the effective study of the Bible alone, without any study tools. To get the most out of studying Scripture, start by taking the time to read the Bible itself carefully and thoughtfully.
