Über diesen Titel

Garage Fly Radio began with a friendship that lasted a lifetime. In 1995, two best friends — Jukebox and Steve — were practicing with their band in Steve's garage when a stubborn fly kept landing on their guitars and microphones. Laughing, Steve suddenly blurted out the name that stuck forever: "Garage Fly." They knew right then it was something special. Though life later took them in different directions, their friendship never changed — months or years apart felt like no time at all. After Steve passed away in August 2022, Jukebox carried their shared dream forward. In 2024, Garage Fly Radio was born in Steve's honor — a tribute to a name he created and a friendship that shaped everything. Today, Jukebox and his wife Boz keep the legacy alive through the music they love and the artists they champion. Garage Fly Radio — Full Story Garage Fly Radio exists because of a name Steve created — and a friendship that never faded. The story begins on Halloween night, 1987, when 11-year-old Jukebox met a teenager named Steve through friends. They clicked instantly. That moment grew into a lifelong friendship — one that remained solid no matter how far apart they lived or how long it had been since the last conversation. By the time they were 18, Jukebox and Steve formed a band together. Much of their time was spent in Steve's garage, rehearsing, laughing, dreaming, and doing all the things young musicians do. One rehearsal day in 1995, they took a break with the garage doors open. A pesky fly kept landing on Steve's guitar, then on his microphone, then on Jukebox's. They were tossing around ideas for a band name when Steve, irritated and amused at the same time, suddenly said: "Garage Fly." And in that moment, the name was born. It fit. It felt right. And they both knew it meant something. Life eventually moved them onto different paths — jobs, families, distance — but their connection never changed. Every conversation felt like they'd spoken only the day before. That's the kind of friendship most people never find. Then came August 2022, when Steve passed away. The loss left a mark that words can't capture. Two years later, in 2024, Jukebox took the name Steve had created nearly 30 years earlier and brought it back to life — not as a band, but as a radio station. A tribute. A legacy. A way to honor his best friend forever. Today, Garage Fly Radio stands for more than music. It stands for: a promise between friends a name born from a small moment that meant everything the power of music to keep memories alive carrying on for someone who mattered Garage Fly started in Steve's garage. Garage Fly Radio lives on because love, memory, and music don't disappear — they echo. And this time, it truly is going places.2024 Musik
