• Season Seven, October 2025, October 31: Contend with the King? - God Created Why?
    Feb 18 2026

We made it! Thank You, Jesus, we trust in Your providence.

Who is this King of Glory? He is high and lifted up. He is our Rock, Refuge, and our intimate Savior. He is also our King.

Once we meet Him truly, we will all say with Job.

“Then Job answered the LORD, and said, 2 “I know that Thou canst do all things, And that no purpose of Thine can be thwarted. 3 ‘Who is this that hides counsel without knowledge?’ “Therefore I have declared that which I did not understand, Things too wonderful for me, which I did not know.” 4 ‘Hear, now, and I will speak; I will ask Thee, and do Thou instruct me.’ 5 “I have heard of Thee by the hearing of the ear; But now my eye sees Thee; 6 Therefore I retract, And I repent in dust and ashes.” Job 42:1-5

The devil wanted to prove a loving relationship with God, but man was false. God tested Job to prove His adoption was sure and steadfast.

    Our So What?

Since our Creator formed us for communion, and our Savior paid the price (His death and resurrection), and our Sustainer gives us fullness of joy, we foster, nurture, and practice privileged conversation with the King of Glory! Amen!

“Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen”

    1 Timothy 1:17

Brethren, let's pray for one another.

  • Prayer 101: Our Signature Episode, What is Prayer? Encouragement. Prayer - Job's Joyous Lesson pt 1
    Feb 14 2026

We have seen the example of Jeremiah and how his prayer life saw him through the sorrow of God's wrath. Now, we turn to Job and see how his prayer life made him famous for his enduring faith.

"Behold, we count those blessed who endured. You have heard of the endurance of Job and have seen the outcome of the Lord's dealings, that the Lord is full of compassion and is merciful."

    James 5:11

Job was a successful man; he was a wonderful father, but overall, he was a pious man. This is evidenced by his reaction to losing everything.

"And it came about, when the days of feasting had completed their cycle, that Job would send and consecrate them, rising up early in the morning and offering burnt offerings according to the number of them all; for Job said, 'Perhaps my sons have sinned and cursed God in their hearts." Thus Job did continually."

    Job 1:5

"Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head, and he fell to the ground and worshiped. 21 And he said, "Naked I came from my mother's womb, And naked I shall return there. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away. Blessed be the name of the LORD." 22 Through all this Job did not sin nor did he blame God."

    Job 1:20-22

"Then his wife said to him, "Do you still hold fast to your integrity? Curse God and die!" 10 But he said to her, "You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. Shall we indeed accept good from God and not accept adversity?" "In all this Job did not sin with his lips."

    Job 2:9-10

After being overwhelmed by the tedious attacks on his integrity, Job declared he would strut in like a prince to God Almighty and demand an answer; he was about to face his Almighty Creator.

    Our So what?

Job's prayer life gave him endurance and comfort beyond our apprehension.

Treasured ones of God, pray, pray, pray through all God's work in your life; therein is the abundant life promised, knowing Him.

Next time, we will learn the one lesson Job needed to learn to bring his life to an abundance of joy.

Brethren, let's pray for one another.

  • Season Seven, October 2025, October 30: Contend with the King? - God Created What?
    Feb 10 2026

Who is this King of Glory? Today brings us one step further out of the 25-26 estuary.

The King of Glory is our Creator, Savior, and Sustainer. He is kind and long-suffering, but also Holy and true. He also asks Job and us where we were at the moment of creation, how the universe is truly sustained, and lastly (today), if we cannot conquer His creation, how do we confront Him?

Today is fun because God brings the Behemoth and the Leviathan to Job's attention. I love the conclusion of God’s argument:

“Lay your hand on him; Remember the battle; you will not do it again! 9 “Behold, your expectation is false; Will you be laid low even at the sight of him?”

    Job 41:8-9

    Therefore:

“No one is so fierce that he dares to arouse him; Who then is he that can stand before Me? 11 “Who has given to Me that I should repay him? Whatever is under the whole heaven is Mine.”

    Job 41:0-11

    Our So What?

We chose to, in humility and lowliness to come to our communion with the Almighty in lowliness, taking Solomon’s advice to heart:

“Do not be hasty in word or impulsive in thought to bring up a matter in the presence of God. For God is in heaven and you are on the earth; therefore let your words be few.”

    Ecclesiastes 5:2

“Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen”

  • Prayer 101: Our Signature Episode, What is Prayer? Encouragement. Prayer - Clueless Job - Clueless - God's Will.
    Feb 3 2026

Unlike Jeremiah, Job had no idea what was coming his way. One of the salient aspects of the Book of Job is that God never explains Himself, not to us or Job.

We are back to wading through 2025 and 2026.

We take a foray into the will of God.

"And this is eternal life, that they may know Thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom Thou hast sent." John 17:3

"And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. 29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the first-born among many brethren;" Romans 8:28-29

"And He has said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.' Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may dwell in me. 10 Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ's sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong." 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

    Our So What?

The revealed will of God is only done in joy, peace, and contentment when we listen carefully to Him and commune with Him in prayer.

Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen. 1 Timothy 1:17

Brethren, let's pray for one another.

  • Prayer 101: Our Signature Episode, What is Prayer? The Assurance of Things Hoped For.
    Feb 2 2026

As we continue wading through the estuary of 2025/2026/October Surprise 2025, we continue, after our long delay, with our Signature Episode: this one assurance through prayer.

    We hear Jesus say:

"For all these things the nations of the world eagerly seek; but your Father knows that you need these things. "But seek His kingdom, and these things shall be added to you. 32 "Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has chosen gladly to give you the kingdom."

    Luke 12:30-32

The essence of being a baby is crying. If you're a parent, sometimes you go in, and your baby is crying, but they're not wet, not hungry, not hurt, not afraid. So we pick them up, hold them close, talk to them a little bit, and hug them, and their crying stops. Why? Because they need us, they need our presence in that moment. I will say it, once more, "God is a much better parent than we are."

If your inner man is giving you some trouble, if your inner man is not experiencing the peace you desire, or maybe you've had at other times, my encouragement is to get into your closet and draw close to your Savior, and talk to him.

    Our So What?

Do we not yet understand that access to the Father is the peace of our walk? Pray, Pray, Pray!

Brethren, let's pray for one another.

  • Season Seven, October 2025, October 29: Who is the King of Glory? - Majestic I AM
    Jan 11 2026

Trusting the Lord as we wrap up our October Surprise, season 7, finish up our Signature episode, and begin Season 8, we hear God, the Almighty, challenge Job’s assertion that he will walk into God's presence, “like a prince,” and demand an answer.

The Lord, the I AM, instead challenges Job’s arm, presence, eminence, dignity, honor, and majesty. If God says, Job has those attributes in His measure, He will “confess to you, That your own right hand can save you.”

Christ in His sacrifice shows us that the debt we owed was one we could not pay.

    Our So What?

From a terrible storm, which is the presence of the Almighty. we learn

The humility that says “Not my will, but thine be done” is the most joyous place in all the universe.

Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen

  • Free Range Preacher on Prayer podcast. Season 8: A Prayer for 2026.
    Jan 2 2026

Welcome to the Free Range Preacher on Prayer podcast, episode 1 of season 8, or the official episode one of season 8.

As we welcome the nations of Eswatini, Bangladesh, and Israel to the podcast, we are in an estuary season.

God willing, we take the next few weeks to finish our October Surprise, Signature episode started in December, and begin Season Eight.

I recently read a letter by Samuel Rutherford and realized he summed up the podcast's purpose more effectively than I ever have.

Today’s episode is a prayer based on His eloquent exhortation.

“Strive to make prayer, and reading, and holy company, and holy conference your delight; and when delight cometh in, ye shall by little and little smell the sweetness of Christ, till at length your soul be over head and ears in Christ's sweetness.”

Take, Lord Jesus, these two pennies and help your people draw near to Thee.

Thy will be done, in Thy wise, just, merciful, and compassionate person. Father compels us into Thy presence for our good, and we will glorify Thy Holy name forever and ever. Amen.

“Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen”

  • Season Seven, October 2025, October 28: Who is the King of Glory? - Majestic I AM - Who Sustains?
    Dec 31 2025

The outline of Job 39 shows that God has designed the animal kingdom and its environments perfectly.

God designed birth, mountain goats, oxen, horses, and birds, all perfectly suited for their flourishing.

And the Ostrich is neglectful with her nest and the callous care of the eggs of the troop, and yet they survive even in carelessness. But the ostrich and the emu are fearless. In 1932, a flock of Emus defeated the Austrian army!

    Our So What

“For I proclaim the name of the LORD; Ascribe greatness to our God! 4 “The Rock! His work is perfect, for all His ways are just; A God of faithfulness and without injustice, Righteous and upright is He.” Deuteronomy 32:3-4

In light of God’s majesty, perfect yet mysterious design, we come into His presence, lowly with reverence and faith, knowing He cares for us in the same perfection and mysterious goodness.

Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen
