The Samaritan's actions parallel Christ's salvation: coming to where we are, showing compassion, binding wounds, carrying burdens, bringing us to community, paying our debt, and promising to return. The gospel isn't about being good enough but recognizing our need for rescue. We are the beaten travelers, and Christ is our Good Samaritan. Only after receiving mercy can we extend it to others.
