Today's podcast is the first half of a Sunday School lesson on Genesis 22. This passage is one of the clearest teachings on the offering of Jesus Christ for the sins of the world that we find in the Old Testament. Today we cover the first mention of "love" in the Bible and how Isaac, even though he is the second son, can be called the only son. Scientific studies have shown several health benefits of meditation. This podcast will look at some of those studies and also at what the Bible says about Christian meditation. We'll see how to add this practice into our routine each day as we try to grow in the spiritual disciplines of reading scripture, praying, memorizing scripture, and meditating. This is the recording of my Sunday School lesson at New Hope Baptist Church. The lesson was on the Parable of the Sower or the Parable of the Soils. You may hear some background noise from the fellowship hall where they were busy preparing a fund raiser luncheon for the youth! It makes me so happy to have normal activities in church again!
